Anyone else quit Reddit and movin back to forums?

I visit Reddit from time to time but don't see the appeal. I'm in the minority there though as Reddit is growing and doing well from what i read.
The appeal is ordinary civilians can post alerts like what's on sale where, answer tech questions, etc. with no real gatekeeper aside from maybe moderator.

I recently wanted to look into some computer thing and seems like quite a few on there have a lot of technical experience with it and answer questions from newbies. There are sub-reddits for all sorts of things.

reddit is great if you want to talk to bots or people who might as well be bots. Also, the reddit news page is garbage.

reddit news feed be like:

-football news
-hollywood movie gossip
-child abuse story
-missing teen alert
-new mount everest documentary
-negative review of the newest iphone
-AI news
-soccer news
-what did trump do wrong today
-climate change is worse than we thought
-more football news
-Elon Musk bad

Unlike you, AI can't be swayed by emotional bias.

Where do you think large language model get their information from...... Clue is in the name.........

Oh fuck it, you're too autistic..... It's from the internet and the Guardian signed up with ChatGPT ......

AI is swayed by human bias .......

Sorry to burst your bubble.......

No it isn't in this case since it determined my popularity based on number of participants, not their emotional states

I get confused from the lay out of posts at Reddit enough to not visit it.
Which is a shame, because it has interesting stuff

The last 6 weeks it’s been absolute dogshit engagement bait, I feel like they cranked a knob somewhere and the whole thing has gone to shit. I don’t want to read sites with algorithm led feeds anymore. So I’ve come back to forums.

Any other people feel the same way?
Forums? There's more than just sherdog out there?

tbh i use reddit for lurking doll groups to get the latest news on releases.
follow vintage media groups to see the photos people take, i like the artistry of it.
tech groups bc i be workin on things often enough and sometimes need input, thats the odd time ill post.

ive been getting recommended those "aitah" posts and those are entertaining to read.
eh, its alright.

although my first reddit account got swiftly banned for a post i made on a pro wrestling group about that wrestler in aew, whats their name, uhh nyla rose. iykyk. i see how everybody loses their mind if you dont agree with them so yeah, i dont post. no interest in all that fuss.

Any recommendations on cases or something similar to properly preserve a 3 foot doll for my daughter? I've been lazily searching for a couple years now.

i dont put my dolls in cases, but the nerds in the toy thread may be able to help:

I use Reddit to get actual information and opinions (often useful) on specific topics.
It’s good for that when you get actual opinions on stuff. The majority subs are complete echo chambers though. The karma system is goofy. I say whatever I want be damned with the votes. I wish they were invisible.

I’ll say it once again, the worst thing about Reddit is dumb jokes that clutter everything. Once a topic reaches a certain engagement point it’s pointless to even comment. You are basically reading through the dictionary at that point.
