I was there today and enjoyed it. Old timey-country service and lots of cool antiques to look at on the wall. Was inexpensive and big portion sizes also. Also has a peg jumping game on each table. After you get stuffed there are rocking chairs on the front walkway.

They also have a cool gift shop with all kinds of old retro candy and toys.

Growing up in the south CB was a staple of my childhood. Also, I'm not sure how true it is, but I know someone who wanted to open one in a town near me but was denied because I guess they have a rule where the store has to be within so many miles of an interstate highway. Makes sense, because I've only seen them close to highways.

But I agree the place is a bargain. A sit down meal with tons of food for the like 7-10 bucks per person.

It tastes good , but I feel extremely sluggish after eating there more so than other breakfasts places.

Their sweet tea is awesome.

They hire a bunch of racists to work there. I stay away from there and Denny's. Also, I don't want to get fat. I went there once and saw that mainly wal mart types like to eat there as well.

I ate there once and everything was about 3 notches below par. Everyone said that is always how the food tastes and that it is not their first choice.

I grew up in the deep south, so it isn't that I don't like southern food. I think KFC, Popeye's, etc... has better tasting food than Cracker Barrel, and that is saying something.

First of all, you can't even fucking spell Walmart.

What exactly is a Walmart type? Someone who doesn't like to overpay for stuff? If you have a Walmart in your area and don't shop there, you're probably a hipster asshole who hates getting more for his/her money.

No. I'm an asshole who likes quality fruits, vegetables and meats. Has nothing to do with being an asshole hipster. The last time I tried shopping at wal mart the meat was terrible the fruits and vegetables were awful. Customer service is terrible there too. The people that shop there god damn son.

Also wal mart wal mart wal mart.

Guess you love your local wal mart or work there. I personally don't like it and try and avoid that place as much as possible.

Oh, so the only thing Walmart sells is fresh fruits and vegetables? Got it. Maybe it's a regional thing, but mine here sells shampoo, soap, motor oil, salad dressings and sauces...you know, the shit that's the same regardless if you are paying $2.99 or $4.99.

I bet your $4.99 bottle of Hidden Valley tastes way better than my old yucky $2.99 bottle. Silly me.

And BTW, throwing a prejudice blanket statement out there about workers for an entire chain restaurant being racist, not only makes you a prejudice bigot, but also makes you a hypocrite.\

It's like people accusing rednecks and southerners of being prejudice. How the fuck do these dumb asses not see the irony in this?

Lol. Your pretty passionate about wal mart. Do you work for them or are you some kind of corporate shill?

Also, I'm not fat like you so I don't use hidden valley.

So the measure of your wit is to accuse someone, whom you have never seen, of being fat?

This is where I wish you a nice day. Have a nice day. BTW, read my edited post that you quoted. It's good. Real good.

lol. yeah, it's kind of like a dozen other calorific "family" (economy) restaurants. it's gimmick is the fake "old timey" thing. it's passable when traveling and there aren't options in the middle of nowhere...but i would never go there otherwise.

also the name is offensive and they need to change it.

This is the only reason I've ever had the 'pleasure' of finding myself in a Cracker Barrel.

They should just commit to the racisms and call it Tacky Honky Buffet.
