Anyone else having a terrible cold/flu season?

Hope you feel better bro. Maybe whatever strain your getting is just your kryptonite.

I feel like shit.
Thank you. It's fucking weird, been having so many tests done on my lungs and sinuses lately to see if there is any lasting damage. Feels like whatever got me destroyed my immune system

I never get these type of chest/sinus/eye infections until the last 18 months. I even have a fucking inhaler now but luckily don't need it often

Like you I've increased my health intake, but I always ate really healthy anyway. Just can't escape this cycle

Hope you feel better man

When I used to live in the frozen north I began eating healthier and using a sun lamp/vitamin D sample twice a week. After that I stopped developing colds in the winter time

I read a book the other week on alternative ways to prevent colds. Apparently some studies have found that injecting a perspn with an acidic substance would often cause a cold. On the opposite side, injecting or consuming baking soda to offset the acid would stop the cold. Acidic foods such as soda, etc might be problematic. Green alkalizing foods might help prevent a cold.

Also the army conducted tests decades ago on cold weather. they would take groups of soldiers and have some staying outdoors in the cold winter weather with another group being placed into a warm building. Not surprisingly the soldiers stationed in the cold climate developed significantly more colds/flus compared to the soldiers placed into warm buildings.

No theory given on why cold weather would results in greater numbers of cold for the soldiers. It did make me wonder about sweating though. Sweat is acidic, and sweating is a way for the body to remove acidic toxins from the body. So if in a cold climate, and you are not sweating as much, possibly a cold and fever is a way for the body to sweat out acidic toxins.

Got sick, its fuckin really shitty, mucus and coughing is real bad.

Im glad at least theres no sore throat which would make me wanna kill myself

I'm having a shitty 18 months of it, got sick with a flu type virus last summer and have no end of infections and bugs since. Almost like someone have me and injection a few years ago that stopped my body from fighting flu bugs

Or something

You just need more coke and hookers

A few people ITT talking about starting a new job recently, or increased stress from young kids etc

Aside from diet and illness, the biggest effect on your immune system is stress, this is felt due to the relationship between your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Sympathetic is your fight or flight programming and the parasympathetic nervous system dictates your rest and digest. They balance each other when you are healthy, one can get stuck in fight or flight sympathetic nervous system energy

Currently I'm stimulating my vagus nerve to strengthen the parasympathetic nervous system. I started a thread about it. You guys with the increased stress can improve the situation. It's silly but even meditation, breathing techniques, cold plunge can all improve your parasympathetic systems tone. Like me you could just buy a thing to wear for half an hour daily to experience being super chill all the time.

Also I've noticed bad colds etc going around. Just getting over one that's lasted 3 weeks, didn't hit the kids but every teacher and parent got hit bad.

Most years I get 1 or 2 mild colds, but this year I have been very sick like 4-5 times. This year I have had the flu twice, and 2 really bad colds. I have probably missed at least 2 weeks of work this year just from being sick.

I have really ramped up my training this year sometimes being in the gym 10-15 hours a week, but I also started a new job where I work around children and those bastards are the main culprit.

I am feeling better, but I have had nights where I literally would have been okay dying. Zero motivation to do anything, but the boredom is driving me crazy and making me depressed.

On top of the disease, I have had the worst allergies of my life this year. Finally starting to ramp down with the colder weather, but now just getting sick instead.

Been evaluating my lifestyle, eating more fruits/veg and taking a multivitamin, use sauna/steam 4 times a week, but the past week I literally have barely left my house.
I taught elementary school for 30 years so ya better get used to being sick. As the years progressed however, I found myself getting sick less frequently. Built up an immunity, I suppose.

Meh this thread gave me the aids. Read this thread yesterday morning. Yesterday night started to get sore throat headache and general achiness. Can‘t sleep now.

Not me. I work in a hospital. I'm around the flu and every other bug all the time. But I've seen lots of Rhino Virus going around in my town. Flu is starting up too.

not sure if mentioned but this is open shut case of super aids which can only be contracted one way and it’s against god fyi (you have brought this on yourself)

The one good part about being sick is that it really makes you appreciate your health.

What I wouldn't give just to feel normal for an hour.

I'm already starting a list of things I'm going to do to help my immune system.

1. Cut back on the booze
2. Stop staying up late like an irresponsible college kid.
3. I'm considering meditation.. or yoga. I clearly need something to help manage my stress.
4. Thinking about getting one of those red lights that your supposed to shine on your face for 10 minutes, though I need to do more research to see if they really do anything.

660nm red LED light is supposed to help your hair grow. Also in one UFC countdown show, Lil' Heathen used a red light room to recover.

Sometimes the internet gives you a rabbit hole to go into and you keep clicking on nude beach video one after another. Then it's some hot older college professor at Mardi Gras showing her pussy.
