Social Anyone Collect Sports Cards

I've kept pretty much all of the baseball cards I bought as a kid in the mid 80's through late 90's, Almost all of my cards (Football/Baseball/Basketball) are Hall of Famers now.
I'd guesstimate about 98% of all cards from the mid to late 70's on are worthless, regardless of who the player is.

The mid 90's is when a lot of the "Lottery cards" (autographs, jersey pieces, etc.) started to pop up, and are pretty much the only cards worth anything these days, with few exceptions. Sadly, even those are becoming over-saturated.
I got kind of tired of modern cards so I've going hard on the vintage stuff from 50s and 60s lately.

What do you think of these 1250$ briefcase cards?. Seems crazy but are kinda neat.

I just don't understand what they expect to get out of them. Cards to flip or collect. The ted Williams card is the only one I really would keep.

$1250 is absurd for any unlicensed product. I see there are some nice pieces in there, but no way I'd risk not at least making my money back on that.

As an aside, I just sold 5 Trae Young cards that I paid $130 for originally, for $400 the other day. I've been buying up Devonte Graham now as my next investment. I'd like to buy some Ja Morant and RJ Barrett stuff but it's way too high now. Forget about Zion.

Panini baseball cards suck. They have no licensing agreement with MLB so none of the cards have logos.

Nice flip on the Young. Zion is dumb high. I hope he lives up to the hype though.

I have this Shaq card.

I still have my baseball cards from when I was a kid but one of my brothers friends picked through most of my good ones. The condition is not great but they are fun to look at now and then and brings back great memories. My Roberto Clemente, Reggie Jackson and others were taken back in the early 70's.

Was that the Shaq card you mailed away to redeem and they sent you yours back with a hole punched?

I got back into it this year with a buddy of mine, I have a lot from the 80's/90's but took 20 years off. I bought a panini XR football box for black friday and it had a Lamar Jackson patch out of 50 cards and a bunch of other cool cards.

Are these the one's with diamonds in them? I've seen hockey ones with diamonds. Saw one guy pull a Gordie Howe with 3 diamonds in it......

I want a box, but can't afford it. I did buy a few individual cards on ebay., including a Flawless Jimmy Garrappolo 1/5

and I'm sure you have found out quickly.. stuff from the 80s and 90s is worthless now.. but newer products and cards are expensive can be worth a fortune.

I've slowly been addicted to buying vintage since the begging on the year. It's crazy since ebay blew up how much the price on vintage has come down.

My most wanted right now is a 1954 Ernie Banks Rookie. It's hard to find one in halfway decent shape for less than $500

Yup. Never really looked up the values but they are 99% base cards.

Do you have any Jordan inserts from the 90s? Those sell for ridiculous money actually. Rare for the 90s.

I might, I need pull my collection down from my garage storage one of these days. I'd say 90% of my cards are baseball.

I don't give a shit about cards but your AV is beautiful.

Yeah that sounds right. It was 25 years ago so memory is a little fuzzy.
