I lost my job a couple of months ago, so I’m currently working as a real estate agent with no salary. Things are tough, market is down. I’m not even making enough money to pay all of bills. Just like 40%
I’m married and I have a son. I’ve never experienced this before

I'm broke right now.

Got fired, got no job, owe rent, no food. Am in debt. Surprisingly enough, I'm not depressed or sad or anything. I follow two simple principles:
  1. Hard times create good men
  2. Suffering builds character
It is what it is, there's been people in way worse situations than you or me. If the market is down and you have some spare time, might as well spend more time with your son.

I've been poor most of my life.

You get used to it.

Sure I been broke. You have to use that to get yourself out of it and stay out of it.

You got this man. Just keep at it until something breaks.

Live below your means, and learn to save....

I know this is hard to follow when you're in a debt situation.

But this is what I learned from my experience.

I've lived thin before but it was honestly a choice, my family has money. Now I've got a great job and the family money

Thats my secret. Im always broke.

Being broke sucks. When my daughter was born I was trying to support her and her mother with a gas station attendant income. Not sure why I thought I made enough to be able to do that, but after about 4-5 months we were so far in the red it was game over and I had to move back home.

I just got laid off from a 200k a year job. But they gave me severance and 60 day stay at home with pay notice. We always live below our means and put away 12 months of bill money. It takes discipline to not buy nicer cars or extensions on house etc. we do take trips because u gotta live. But I just got hired by another company so I’ll be double dipping for a month.

My advice to everyone is cash is king. When times are tight you need cash flow so anything you can do to put some in your pockets is paramount. Bar tending, car sales, drug dealing....

Hang tough, keep pushing, follow through, think outside the box..good luck.

Why do people do this to themselves.
My sister did it 3 times. Like wtf? Neither of you have a career.

Most people don't know how to reduce their standard of living. I am not saying being broke is fun or a not complete nightmare. There is usually fat to be cut or should have been cut earlier.

Im like normal americans. I own an xbox one, 30 games, 3 TVs, 4 computers, 3 phones, and I am broke.

I'm always broke.

But that sucks that there is a kid involved. Hopefully that motivates you to find a new job ASAP.

I've never been broke. I always saved money and lived well below my income.

Worst I've been financially was £250 overdrawn and on minimum wage.

I cut right back on spending money with the then GF and paid it all off in the same month that she left me.

Now my current GF complains about me being too tight...
