Anybody else feels awkward about Meisha being the champ?

Nope. I think she can beat Ronda now and I will definitely be rooting for her.

I like Holm too. It was a great fight and Miesha pulled it off in the end. Awesome win for her.

Funny feelings for girls awkward, maybe.

Because everything she's done since the loss is that of a person who's shaken and uncertain about how to move forward. The statements made by her or her coaching staff (which she won't replace) is ignorant and off base. Hell she still thinks she's undefeated. Does that strike you at all as a person who's learned from her mistakes?

And this doesn't talk about her hugging a pillow to hide her face, crying on Ellen or the suicidal thoughts.

None of any of this strikes me as a smart/confident person who will come back stronger.
It's all PR, she's looking for sympathy and she'll likely get it.

Doesnt have championship aura, yet again, she won fair and square, matchups make fights, she might loose it in her first defense just as Holly did, it feels like the belt is going to be passed around a lot.

Shes deserving, she gave rousey a hell of a fight in the last showing.
We could use her in more magazine covers, shes actually slammable.

No more of this Ronda airbrushing, plastered on covers and mags.

I still have some faith in Meisha, she has evolved a lot and winning the belt totally busted her confidence and momentum, in other hand Ronda is not the same beast she used to be, Holly broke her and deciphered her, there is a good chance also that Ronda is going to underestimate Meisha and the fact Meisha is the champ and beat Holly can be an mental edge over Ronda, I think this is going to be a very interesting build up and fight.

Also this is no by any means Jones/DC 2 scenario

Yeah that's my take on things as well.

You don't need to defeat everyone in the world to be the champ. LOL

PR was not hugging a pillow...or stating she feels she's undefeated. Or her coaching staff suggesting she did ok on the feet. And let's be honest....Honda's acting sucks. There is no snowball's chance in hell she could cry like that on demand. Those tears on Ellen were real and authentic.

Other fighters lost, they talk about going over the tape and finding out what they did wrong, and congratulating their opponent.

Honda's brain doesn't handle losing very well.

Still no evidence of how it will affect her performance, she's beat Tate handily twice.

She did it! I"m glad she won although i wanted Holms to win. She probably will get beat next time around but I'm just glad she won in strikeforce and in UFC. I didn't want to see her become like urijah faber and not win it in the UFC.

Uhm...her confidence is on thin ice. Her game has been exposed...Miesha's riding a high. These things matter.

How has her game been exposed? The only thing that was exposed is that you can't rush in on a counter striker as fast as Ronda did, Miesha isn't a counter striker and doesn't have the skill set to execute Hollys gameplan.

We're in a weird position right now in the UFC. Miesha's win feels a lot like Robbie Lawler. They feel like vulnerable champions and can easily lose their next fight. They aren't dominant by any means but that also makes it fun.

We're also in a spot where all of the top guys and girls have losses now. There's no one that is completely dominant anymore. Years ago when you had guys like GSP, Anderson, Jones, Aldo, Ronda, etc., they were far and away the best in the division and felt unstoppable. All of that has changed and may never come back.

Awkward that Miesha is champ? WTF? No way. I do have feeling about Miesha, but "awkward" is not one of them.

Congrats to her for winning. She earned it 100%.

She earned it but it doesn't feel like it's hers, especially with the news that she's facing Ronda right away.

Definitely, she's not a draw, she doesn't have a very exciting fight style, she has 2 losses to Ronda and 1 a piece to Zingano & Kaufman.
Not a draw? With that ass and her attitude? Being the champ calls for more marketability so well see. I'd say she is nicer to look at than holly and a shit ton easier to work with than Ronda. It's a win win for ufc.

Can't remember the Kaufman fight but cats fight was stopped early.

Was rooting for Holly and she was 1 minute away from winning the fight. But that's MMA..
