Well, the guy is a fighting genius. I know his hand is broken but it's been over 6 months since that. I hope he comes back and avenges his loss to Ristie. I still think he lost because of broken hand not because Ristie is that good.

I've been wondering the same. Haven't heard anything since he lost to Ristie. Starting to miss the guy...

After you break your hand for the fifth time, it could take a while to heal properly.

still would be nice to get some news

He was training in Thailand last month with youssef boughanem before youssef fight with aikpracha. You can check this in boughanem team face book.

Thailand last I heard.

He looked a shadow of his usual self against ristie. Something seemed off. Hopefully he bounces back.

I was there live to watch his fight with Ristie here in NYC and yeah he seemed very off, not like his usual self. Was it because of Ristie's awkward style? Maybe but I think it had more to do with the fact that this was his first time fighting in such a cold climate. Not sure if it was captured on the televised show but before the fight he was blowing his nose.

yes and ristie really loves cold weather

ristie is a tall southpaw that switches stances easily and has power in both hands and knees

pretty much petrosyans stylistic antidote

Risties style definitely played a roll but Petrosyan certainly didn't look himself. I remember thinking this during the first round that something wasn't right with him even when he was arguably winning at that point. Wasn't as quick and sharp as usual.

Well my point was it was below freezing that November night and he was blowing his nose. His figting experience in Europse was still in the warmer climates of Italy, Spain, etc. and this could've been a shock to his system.

I doubt the weather played a big part as he has fought in japan in the winter months. But he was suffering from the flu at the event with probably drained his energy a good bit leading to the sluggish nature of his performance

Yup, the Netherlands, Sweden and Japan are known for their Mediterranean climate.

Petrosyan never loses! He got poisoned, he was sick, he was forced to drink water,
he got robbed by judges against Buakaw, his hands got fractured, he was not right
mentally, he never fought in cold weather before!

NYC is colder than Sweden/Tokyo? Shera needs to travel abroad.

Well his excuses are as world class as his fighting talent.^^

Not bad when you only have to come up with 3 excuses...

What excuse does he use for the gift draw against the Thai he fought early in his career?
