Try cheering for the US team....they don't fake fouls or dive, and always play until the last whistle. They're not great and rarely win anything meaningful, but it builds character and the fans are the best to support them after so many failures. That's my favorite sports team. :)

Surprised to see a fellow traveler so closed-minded on the world's most popular sport. Check out the next US match, as they play hard and honest, not like the rest of the world. Always proud of them, for not playing like homo's...as you might say. :)

Man in every thread about the topic you're saying the same thing about how wonderful the US soccer team are, and how they play so much harder and fairer than every other country in the world. I'm sure they are great and all but I highly doubt it. e.g. ROI and NI national teams both played perfectly hard and honest, and most countries are the same tbh...

You should win 6-0 each time they play, as your whole country revolves around that sport. I never said the US was a great team, so don't misquote me. But it's a team that can change the negative opinion of soccer that elitists like yourself perpetuate.

Which is what you said. I'm sure they are a good team that plays hard, especially for how popular soccer in america. Explain how I am elitist?

I do. In Europe soccer is the go-to game instead of American Football or baseball. I was the goalkeeper on the school team from day 1 to the very end - even after I switched schools. My first goalkeeper idol was Peruzzi, later Toldo, now Buffon. GOAT is still Yashin tho.

I still play from time to time when the weather is fine but I deflect low shots with legs instead of diving after them because of my bad back. I can play defense just as well due to my understanding of what assistance the goalkeeper needs.

Do you play full games, or just 5 a side? That's one good thing about soccer, it's very easy to set up a game compared to things like rugby which I prefer. I still enjoy playing a bit of 5 a side from time to time.
