So I'm always looking for my next pair of shades...but I'm a picky SOB...
Found these Tag Heuer sunglasses surfin around today, but they retail about 300 bucks.
And I'd probably just lose them anyway...anybody got any recommendations?

some cheap ones from walgreens. i wear them for a like a good 3 weeks straight after purchase and then i put them somewhere forever.

The polarized brown lenses make for great visibility.

I usually just get some cheap-ass mirrored aviators off a guy in Chinatown, they're like $5 a pop, so I'll get like 5 pairs and just keep them in storage for when one pair inevitably gets lost or damaged. They look exactly like the kind you can pick up for 2 or $300 bucks, only difference is the construction is very cheap and they scratch easily, but if you're careful with them, they'll last about a year. Works for me, I'm not someone who likes paying exorbitant prices for "luxury" items that aren't actually worth it, mostly what you're paying for is a brand logo.

I used to work for Luxxottica here in Australia at OPSM. We were able to get 1 pair of free glasses a year so I built quite the respectable sunglasses collection - 2x Pradas, 1x Dolce & Gabbana, 1x Oakley, 1x Versace. I now only buy a pair once my old ones are scratched to shit seeing as I don't get them for free anymore.

To confirm, they pretty much hold the monopoly over the spectacle/sunglasses industry.

I had this (Maui Jim Typhoon polarized, wrap, very nice):

Then the spring hinge broke, and it didn't sound like I was going to be able to get replacement parts via Maui Jim and didn't want to send them my broken pair just to see if they had parts where they sounded like they weren't going to give me back my pair.

I then bought this (Oakley Pitbull polarized):

So far, so good. The frame material I think I read somewhere was some nylon blend, which seems way more durable than the piece of crap brittle frame material Oakley used in their first Straight Jacket models and second version of Frogskins.

I had these Oakley New Frogskins, but the frame was the brittle material again and cracked, but I really liked the lens size and coverage.

The cracked frames make me wish I had a 3-D printer and could print replacement parts from nylon.
