Trump already declared his intent to do this back on May 31st.
As I have said - I have nothing but contempt for ANTIFA vermin but I disagree that they are „terrorists“.
They are politically-motivated rioters, looters and agitators but they are not terrorists. But it‘s just like „Nazis“, „Extreme Right“ or „racists“, words don‘t mean shit anymore.
And yes, it‘s absolutely the progressive side that started this.
The irony is there is an issue here, and it's exactly what has been used to try to play to their defense.
It's true that
most don't use a traditional organization structure, but all this really reflects is that they don't
do anything. They aren't like
#BLM, the NAACP, the Rainbow Coalition, or even Farrakhan's Nation of Islam that raise funds, contribute to campaigns, file lawsuits, court politicians, and use the other traditional means of affecting policy outcomes aligned with their political goals. I will add that there are some official chapters. Yvette Felarca was a teacher in Sacramento who assaulted someone on camera, at a press conference, no less, and was charged with a crime for it.
The Transnational Threats Project’s Examining Extremism series provides an overview and assessment of Antifa—a decentralized movement of individuals whose ideological roots lie in various left-wing causes, such as communism, anarchism, and socialism.

So the only thing they actually
do is show up to protests where they incite violence; vandalize & cause property damage to government, public, and private property; block roads or otherwise disrupt commerce; harass citizens; attack police officers; loot; sow disorder. They also sometimes engage in digital terrorism by doxxing and harassing individuals who say things they don't like, or advocate for policies they oppose. Those are forms of terrorism: economic and civic. Especially when their stated goal is to do no more than to wreak havoc against the ruling government by "fighting fascism". Meanwhile, they organize this activity through Facebook groups and other social media.
They wear insignia to identify each other that explicitly identifies them as "Antifa".
So it's not exactly compelling to say that they aren't uniting under a banner to further these undeniably
terrorist activities. It's
all they do. Their entire identity is built around this sort of deliberate, aimed disruption. Frankly, this was long overdue.
