weird how people keep repeating this when the truth is Smith was in zero danger and beat the dude so bad that there was blood on the walls and the kid had brain swelling, but just kept struggling because of the shit ton of drugs in his system.
this just goes to show if you repeat anything enough times people think its the truth. Smith is a bad dude facing off against other bad dudes. he takes the sort of damage that would leave the rest of us in the A&E.

Can't remember which fight it was few years ago where he got beaten up so badly that his team should have called it off in between rounds. Fans told him to hang up the glove because he was absorbing insane damage and they cared about his health and well-being. He basically told them to fuk off and he know what he is doing. He proceeded to get beaten up badly every single time he lost after that.
Hard to care about a fighter that doesn't care about his own health.

He was a total journeyman who nobody ever really cared about watching, and yet somehow the UFC tries to present him as an ATG. Its pretty funny.
Also the kid was allegedly a decent HS or college wrestler, which makes sense with the story. It's how I would expect a confrontation to go between an average MMA fighter trying not to kill a drugged up wrestler who won't quit.
