Anthony Joshua is now by far the biggest star in combat sports, Conor not even close

So the UFC could put on a show in the UK where they sell out a 90k stadium and do 1.6 million PPV buys. They just don't want to lolz.

Also, MsGregor is by far MMA's and the UFC's biggest star yet he now spends most of his time chasing around after a retired boxer, begging for him to give him the time of day in the hope that he can his ass kicked by him in a boxing match and collect his paycheck. Even bigger lolz.

You call Mayweather "a retired boxer" but he's still the biggest name in boxing and wants the fight as well.

Look at all the boxers chasing Connor though because they know he's one of the biggest draws in the fight game, some even offered to fight MMA rules to get paid.

Amir Khan - “I’m a little different in that sense, where I would get into a cage and I would fight in MMA rules, so that’s the difference between me and Mayweather,” said Khan. “I would definitely give it a go. It’s something to learn, as well. I’m at that age where I’m still learning, adapting and getting better. So I still have time under me as well. I’m still a young lad and got loads left in me."

Canelo - “If he wants to try out boxing, then [we can fight] anytime he wants, Alvarez said to FightHub TV this week. “If he wants to come over to this side of the world and try boxing, anytime he wants, to see that it’s not as easy as he thinks.”

Problem for Joshua is that he does not have enough decent opponents out there to make more than a handful of fights on the scale of his last fight.

you're right. I grade Joshua a B+ level athlete, whereas Stipe is a C- level (average UFC hw being D level).

This is what an A level athleticism looks like:

Running and catching is pretty good but I find Yoel Romero's athleticism more impressive.

He also beat one of the wrestling GOAT's Cael Sanderson twice in international competition so I don't think there's any disputing Romero being an A level athlete especially looking at him in MMA at nearly 40 years old past his physical prime and he still looks like a superhero.

Yes, Yoel absolutely is A-level. If he grew up in the states, he probably would have been steered to football and making millions in the NFL.

Lol sherdogers are so pathetic and insecure, going on forums just to bash their own sport. And no, no one knows who Joshua is. Conor is a household name now.

Pretty sure Cain in Mexico would finish Joshua in the first one minute of round one.

thats because Dana paid TMZ to cover him. So now he's famous among people who never watch fighting and just wanna follow him to see what clothes and cars he buys.

would be perfect for running back.

I actually don't mind American football, would like to see it expand in Europe to see if we can find some big A-level athletes here. I'm sure there would be a lot of them in countries with naturally big people like Eastern Europe or Northern Europe. These big guys don't really have anywhere to go there but hockey.

yeah, there's a lot of recent Polish immigration to my state, and most of them are massive. They're easily the biggest guys in my gym with huge bone structures. I'm wondering how Poland's athletics curriculum can accomodate them because they're simply too big for soccer and rugby isnt popular there. Maybe thats why mma and boxing are growing so fast in eastern europe.

They mostly end up in football hooliganism or work as bouncers lol. That football hooligan Artur Szpilka even ended up fighting Wilder for the HW belt in boxing. He's another typical Polish big athlete.

In Europe there is no such athletics curriculum as in the USA. If you want to do sports you need to pick a sport outside of any school education and train it at some club. Most people go into football (soccer) or athletics (track and field) or maybe swimming or things like that. Your parents have to enlist you in some club where they'd train you in those things and pay the membership.

From what I understood in the USA a lot of sports are in your high school program like high school wrestling.

We'll I don't know the actual numbers. I will say the longer Conor sit's out the more irrelevant he'll become. He should use all the hype generated from the Floyd discussions to negotiate a huge trilogy conclusion with Nate.

The bullshit about him waiting for a fighter to excite him is going to kill his own career. Fight someone or retire.
It's hard to take MMA's mainstream appeal seriously when the biggest fight possible is a trilogy between McGregor and a street thug turned MMA journeyman like... Nate Diaz.

Then again, who the hell cares about the mainstream? To be quite honest, I want MMA still to be a niche sport. I surely enjoyed it much more back in the day when people called it "human cockfighting".

People say hockey is a niche sport. Sometimes people just talking for no reason.

We haven't seen the gate for Joshua fight yet. Doubt it anywhere close to ufc msg or canelo vs cotto.

Is it because we deal with facts and logic?
Then admit your hero got tapped from a mid tier lightweight and than ran the last three rounds of the next fight against again a mid tier lightweight.. and I'll admit he's knocked a lot of midgets out.

I use to smoke meth behind dumpster and rob old ladies then i saw savior mike perry fight and he saved my life now im drug free and dont sucker punch old ladies #blessthem
