Ant Man is fun as hell.

Watched it in 3D and can say I don't feel totally ripped off with the 3D pricing with this movie.

All the actors did a pretty damn good job but Pena really hits a homerun with his character.

liked it a lot more than i thought i would. it didnt take itself too seriously and really easily injected marvel universe stuff throughout the movie which i enjoyed.

would watch again. very entertaining

Watched it last night, 7/10, I enjoyed it. I was skeptical, because I had no knowledge really of Scott Lang, I always knew Hank Pym as Ant-Man, but I really thought Paul Rudd did an excellent job as being the lovable yet badass character. The heist aspects were great, it was not the typical super hero origin film, but it did a great job of fleshing out most characters even if I believe that the villain, Darren Cross, was short changed. His character was not as developed as Scott or Hank (Michael Douglas is great in every role, he is unable to be bad in a movie), but he proved a worthy and diabolical villain by his moves at the end.

In summary, fun movie with some neat tie-ins to the MCU. Falcon's appearance and the mid/post credit scenes really set up Ant-Man to be involved in Civil War first and foremost and then part of the huge Phase III battle against Thanos. Giant-Man maybe?

Finally saw this today, and I loved it. I decided to see it in IMAX 3d due to some comments in here - totally worth it. The ant parts were awesome to watch. Also loved Rudd, he is perfect for this role.

9/10

Schlock. Typical fare these days. A little better than most comic book movies, but not by much, and that's not a grand compliment anyway. They churn 'em out, people eat it. 5/10

ANT-MAN Outsizes Competition, Remains No. 1 for 2nd Week

Paul Rudd's Ant-Man narrowly beat Adam Sandler's new action-comedy, Pixels, at the North American box office in another blow for Sandler, whose standing at the multiplex has been on the wane. In its second weekend, Ant-Man grossed an estimated $24.8 million from 3,868 theaters for a 10-day domestic cume of $106.1 million and global haul of $226.5 million for Disney and Marvel Studios. Both films, along with Minions, competed for family love in North America.

Pixels debuted to an estimated $24 million from 3,723 theaters, not a good start for a summer tentpole that cost Sony and its financing partners at least $88 million to produce after rebates. The movie hopes to make up ground overseas, but is off to a muted start with $25.5 million to date from 56 markets for a global total of $50.4 million.

Opinion is divided as to whether Thursday night's fatal theater shooting in Louisiana during a screening of Trainwreck may have hurt family friendly and younger-skewing titles. "When something like this happens and you're a parent," says one studio executive, "you probably will think about it for a minute, and say, 'Do I feel comfortable this weekend taking my kid to the movie theater?'" Adds another: "It's hard to ignore but difficult to quantify." No one, however, expects the impact to be lasting.

I was on the fence but decided to watch it now.

positives:
-One of the few 3D movies where 3D really enhanced the viewing experience
-CGI in general was great
-Dougals,Pena,T.I (what?) deliver good performances, good to see Avon Barksdale getting roles :icon_chee
-the jokes worked for me mostly, esp. Pena explaining how he heard something from someone, very edgar wright-esque
-action scenes were fantastic
- i liked the motivation they gave the villain

Meh:
-Rudd didnt completely win me over,Corey Stoll neither but i blame Kevin Feige for that

negatives:
-they literally decided in the last minute of the movie to have a Rudd/Lilly love story (largely to cross off some MCU points).Thats pathetic, even for a Marvel movie
-evangeline lilly sucks as an actress
-too much useless exposition during the 1st half of the movie

Overall:
Ant Man was better than i thought.Slightly better than the disappointing Avengers 2.
7.5/10

I thought Rudd was great in the role but every time I saw Corey Stoll I couldn't help but think it was Kevin O'Leary (dragons den) playing yellowjacket. He is pretty much the villain of Dragons Den so it worked lol.

saw this last night, first part for the film bored me to tears, but,it picked up nicely and had,for me, some neat touches with ant mans friends particularly. the fight with falcon made me laugh a lot. by the end of it, i thought it was a better experience than age of ultaron. i'll give it an 8,and can honestly say that i look forward to seeing how they incorporate antman into the rest of the marvel world.

As a whole I enjoyed Ant-Man, the one thing I didn't care for was at the end in the little girl's room the close calls to save her. I think Pe

I have to say... this is an average movie compared to the other Marvel movies.
way too much meaningless exposition and too much unexplained
casting overall was just ok
I would have cared more for the story if Pym had actually been in
the avengers/age of ultron and help create ultron
exactly why was pym watching lang all this time and how did he expect
handing his maid a wad of cash would end up with lang robbing him
Stoll knowing about the plot to steal yellow jacket in the end was way to
convenient in how it happened.
The tank at the end irritated my in the way all deus ex solutions do.

Ant-Man - 7.5/10

Pretty fun movie. Kind of reminded me of Iron Man. you didn't really care for the villain it was more about the story arc of the guy. But dont get me wrong Corey Stoll was a good villain...however again like Marvel...they do a terrible job painting him as a villain. Just cause he vaporizes a few things and says creepy shit...but honestly I kind of felt like he got dicked HARD in this storyline..

Hank Pym takes him on as a protege, gives him a job, raises him like a son, thinks he's to much like himself and pushes him away, then he distances himself heavily from him, then hides his biggest secret from him, cause him to go on his own without guidance to create on his own, presents the idea to his role model who immediately hates it and tells him that he shouldn't go through with his "life's work" ...gets his own daughter to double cross him by being in a relationship with him, destroys everything he built (blowing up his entire company) and then leaves him with absolutely nothing...

but somehow Scott Lang/Hank Pym are the "good guys" as far as im concerned Pym created this entire dilemna by being a shit dad/role model/person

Honestly the movie was a blast though, the fight scenes were well done...

The hardest part for me was the little touches of Edgar Wright that remained in the film...you can obviously tell that Marvel wanted to tie the film into the MCU by having Falcon and like outrageous amounts of references to the Avengers...but the scenes where Michael Pena is telling stories is so very Edgar Wrightian that it hurts to think of what could have been the whole thing.

The film was serviceable and fun, Paul Rudd was good, Corey Stoll was good, Evangeline Lily had a terrible haircut, Michael Douglas was great, action was fun, daughter was adorable, I enjoyed it...fun romp

Story telling by Pena was the new director's idea bruh.

Saw Ant-Man, I give a 6.5 out of 10.

I must be the only one, but I thought the villain was terrifying. When "yellowjacket" zapped that poor man with his shrink ray and wiped him off the floor then flushed him down the toilet I felt sick to my stomach. That shit is scary.

I thought the dialogue was the worst part of the movie. It was really, really bad and lazy.

I wish there were more "honey I shrunk the kids" type hijinks but overall I was glad I saw it and I was happy they made it.

The avengers stuff didn't feel too forced either, I didn't think it added much to the movie but it was done well.

I think I'll rate it as a 7/10.

I liked Rudd a lot in this role. I was hoping for a little more humor from him. This is coming from a guy who hates comedic relief in action scenes.

I thought I was gonna hate Pena and TI but they were great in their roles.

Wood Harris had the best line of the movie:
"That's one messed up looking dog."

Cons:
I hated the dialogue by cross during his fights with ant-man.
Also the comparisons to jebediah Springfield(iron man 1 idk his name.) are spot on.

I finally saw this movie last night. My expectations were quite low as i didn't even bother to see it when it first came out, however i was pleasantly surprised. This movie really delivered for me. I watched it with the girlfriend and we both thoroughly enjoyed it!

I gave it a 8 / 10
