How crazy it will be if these 2 meet at 145lbs for the title?
We know Penn is not on his prime, but hes by far the more complete fighter... but we talking only
about boxing here: Who takes the standup battle? and prime Penn, does he put a beating on Conor?

beat me to it ^^^

Connner Macgregor has pretty good boxing but BJ Penn is hard to put away.

I think "Prime Penn" would definitely give Conor some trouble.

Conor in my opinion has much better distance management though, and his frame and almost "dangly" limbs make this so. Penn was much more of a "get inside" guy, who'd clip people with check-hooks etc.

People need to realize as well that as of today, Conor has KO'd one top level fighter who has and does fight at LW - Dustin Poirier. To me Dustin isn't an "elite" fighter, especially thus far at LW.

It's always going to hypothetical, but I'd be interested to see that "Prime Penn" vs Conor McGregor, boxing only.

Penn on points, I would say.

Who's Anthony Penn?

As a GSP fan, I don't really like BJ Penn. And even though I sometimes don't appreciate everything McGregor says, I do like the guy.

That said, I feel I can't be blind though. BJ Penn's boxing seems substantially better.

Conor showed a good punch selection vs Diaz but Penn is probably better

Two different styles of striking honestly. Conor has better defensive boxing, and Penn has better offensive boxing. Not to say Conor has shitty offense or Bj has shitty defense, but I would give the edge to Bj.

The answer to any MMA boxing question is Diaz
