This film doesn't get the recognition it deserves. There are several layers. The beginning, where a small-time crook gets fucked up and an old school crook sees an opportunity to take him in and have a partner that he can control. Then they get into the business and it gets dirty but they all survive. Then the third part is when it all falls apart. A person ODs. Witnesses are killed. And in the end, the mother over it all (Melanie Griffith is amazing) makes it as right as the fucked up situation could be.

I like this one.
