Ank vs Alex 1- weird perception around fight?

Chama fans are insufferable.

Poatan got bullied to the wall and complained.

He lies, complains and whine about everything.

He avoided even admitted on podcast do whatever means necessary to give Ank a titleshot, fought a Ramadan Ank and still lost.

When a Russian wins a boring decision they dominate. Its weird how that works around here

That can be true of course, a 30-27 wrestlefuck is boring but also a domination. The fight in question here was close though, Ank deserved the win IMO but I've seen worse decisions if Pereira got the nod.

It was a clear but competitive fight. Saying Poatan won, or it was a one sided affair are both pretty stupid.

Damn, I hate this but here it is: I just re-watched it, I am not sure Ank won round 5 and for some reason the fight seems MUCH closer than I remember. This is going to be a REALLY good fight if the bad blood between the two is real. Also, the "greasing" accusation seems weird as I am not sure how Alex would even do it as he has no hair and looked actually dry during the fight. (Anything is possible I guess as they both have crazy resources for that shit)

Ank clearly won RD 2 but lost 1 from kicks. 3 was really close and if you give 4 to Ank (for the cage holds) it comes down to 5. Wow. I am an Ank fan and want him to win the rematch but I must say that I think the OP is not crazy. (I am Just another asshole, my opinion does not matter so don't freak out)

edit: Round 5 is what is blowing my mind, I do not remember it being that close. I am going to watch 5 one more time no sound now just for fucks sake.

The control time was literally nothing and all strikes are not equal. The two biggest moments in the 5th round that did the most damage belonged to Alex.
OK. Did so much damage the fight wasn't remotely close to being stopped, wasn't able to keep Ank from outstriking him and wasn't able to keep him from controlling him. Sorry but Ank won the round and the fight very clearly. By your argument it could "Easily" have been 49-46.

It was close but Ank won. If Alex was as sick as he claims then he should win this, no problem. I don't know if I buy it though

I can see a knockout or decision either way. Don't see a sub. Leaning towards Ank by knockout

2 of the 3 judges gave it to Alex but go off king. lol he didn't stop him with strikes so that means he didn't land the best strikes??? great argument brudda

Anyway, it wasnt a domination per se.

Ank's game is to land off counters, and Poatan wasnt throwing anything, so we had alot of passive moments.

When Poatan tried to engage, Ank shut him down. Ank's feints, level changes, and speed, stymied and confusticated Poatan.

Ank didnt get the takedowns, but he controlled him against the fence, and largely dictated the fight.

The optics for Poatan are worse, because it's not the way Poatan usually fights. He couldnt get his game off.

Against Khalil, Poatan engaged less, but you can easily see that Khalil was fading, and that Poatan was slowly gonna pick him apart, which is what happened.

No such luck here.

If both change up their attack on this one, this could be fight of the year. Alex landed a head kick in round 5 that Ank really needs to be careful of in the rematch plus I don't think he should dance in front of Alex like he was in the first. Both are really good strikers, if Alex wins I think this might be a 3 fight situation and my gut leans toward Alex after re-watch and the fact he seems REALLY pissed off for some reason.

I did not say he didn't land the best single strike in the round. I didn't say because he didn't stop him he can't win the round. Volume and significant control time are 100% objective. Your claim he landed the best strike or two is subjective. I don't recall (haven't rewatched it) Alex landing anything that was devastatingly significant. I recall him being controlled and hit more than he hit. Nobody got Rocked or cut or swelled up due to impact.

Your Subjective argument has nothing to back it up.

Your 2 of 3 judges claim is funny because 3 of 3 judges say Ank won. So why is it ok in your mind to ignore a Unanimous decision on the winner and rely on a 2/3rds majority to argue it maybe, possibly could go the other way if certain things went differently?

it's objectively time stolen from the fight.
Two things:
1.) that is your "Subjective" opinion.
2.) if you want to watch people kick box only then why don't you watch kickboxing? There is never any wall and stall.

It was a close fight scoring-wise but you have to admit that Pereira did zero damage and is only plausibly given rounds literally for leg kicks that had no visible effect, a blocked head kick, and a jab. That's not an exaggeration.
+1

Which i cant understand, He does everything right, he's not popping off at the mouth with nonsense. Quiet. lets the fighting speak for him, but in a sensationalist post conor world it bothers some people
This! True Martial Artists, True Fans of Combat Sports who tend to be older 40+, Trainers, etc.. seem to like Ank because he's not loud, doesn't pop off to the media, etc.. and continues to win, regardless.
