Anime and Manga v39

anyone here still reading food porn I've really been enjoying this arc so far. I've also been reading robot x lazerbeam golem hearts new ping pong manga full drive also black clover
I was disapointed when Megumi lost. I knew it would happen, but she really got the shaft in her matchup; she had to go up against one of the very best on the council and the item was a perfect match for her specialty. Still managed to get a vote though.

I dumped RxL on the chapter where the guy intentionally skipped the ball accross the water. That was just retarded and I couldn't take it seriously anymore.

Full Drive and Golem Hearts I haven't tried out, I'll give them a look-see.

i didn't think she was going to win at least she put up a fight. rxl gets better well at least for me stuff like skipping the ball across the water doesn't really bother me. so far with full drive and golem hearts I've been enjoying it tho really did just start so not many chapters are out yet

To continue my previous tangent, the same can be said of shows like Wittch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, s-CRY-ed, GITS: Stand Alone Complex, and to some extent Big O and Inuyasha which were both late '99 and '00 respectively. Just looking at them you can tell when they were made. Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece were also animated around this time, but they all have such distinct looks in of themselves that they're unique cases...God DAMN I REALLY need to marathon some of this stuff again. There will NEVER be another era like that for anime or ANYTHING really, like that again due to streaming sites which while convenient, kind of remove the magic of waiting for the next episode to air the next day or week.

Yeah it's a case of easy availability removing any anticipation that used to exist.

Yeah that's true. Another big one is the change of how it's watched. Before, you got home from schools and watched it with your friends or stayed up til late to watch Midnight Run(PLEASE tell me you remember that) and later Adult Swim and then talk about it at school or something. Now, you don't really have that. Online boards are nice, but it kind of removed that personal magic and it's why I value watching series with people who have never seen them.

RE: ToG
Looks like Khun-daddy is showing up quicker than I had expected.

Anyone else read,

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken

I've really grown to like these type of isekai stories since the mains are so genre savy which makes things much more interesting to me. Making them somewhat OP on the way they are is also interesting since it shifts the story so that instead of wanting to grow stronger it focuses more on interactions of characters and world building along with that kind of administration.

I like that one. The twist of the dude becoming a slime is both funny and interesting. A lot of the other reincarnated/transported to another world series don't really hold up over the long term. Though I also enjoy Shield Hero.

Also: Truck-sama is a magnificent bastard.

Oh hey, a new chapter of Mongrel just came out. Dunno who recommended it to me but it's a kickboxing manga with some interesting potential but almost no scanlation support.

Tsuyokute New Saga, Konjiki no Word Master, and Death March I also rather enjoyed(latter a bit less so as it's gotten a bit slow and there was another where a slobby otaku gets reincarnated into a little kid) since they hit that RPG gaming shoutout stuff combined with the MC's being genre savy as all hell which is REALLY refreshing. This new one I enjoy since the MC's does a lot of "real" RPG logical things like collect ALL of the materials he finds n the cave, slay all the monsters to level grind and power level along with learn valuable new skills, and generally be pragmatically benevolent. Being OP I don't mind that much if at all since it moves the focus from him being powerful enough instead to him being a good and solid administrator and trying to keep his subjects alive and well. Reminds of Shina Dark and I was bummed when that never got continued. :(

Edit: Tsuyokute New Saga I like since it's so obvious that it's a take on playing NG+ on an RPG which I think is an interesting new twist. You got the Worst Ending, now you want to use your NG knowledge in NG+ to get the best ending.

You should check out Tales of Demons and Gods if you like that NG+ vibe. The first few chapters are suuuuper heavy on exposition but it improves as it goes on.

Interesting. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks. I'd love to read the LN's of the Slime one, New Saga, and Wordmaster, but while there ARE translations they lack the illustrations which kind of ruin it a bit. Not to mention the translations are a bit choppy sometimes.

Edit: I legit hope that those three get animated at some point.

Death March was new to me so I gave it a shot. Had to drop it when
loli tried to rape the MC. It's not that I think rape can't be used as a story element (Berserk, for example, handled it in a very hard hitting and real way) but this just felt like a shitty sex fantasy on the author's part.

From some posts I've read it's some kind of curse on the MC that all of the women that fall in love with him will be loli's or something like that(no, not making this up) much to his displeasure. It's also worth noting that the loli is just like him in that she's a reincarnated person from Japan as well and was in her 20's when she passed. Kept reading it for a while, but just lost interest since it spends too much time on things that while world building are only VERY slightly so and frankly don't need chapters devoted to them.

i'm tempted to re-watch the entire hajime no ipoo series...not sure when the next season is or if they will even make one. very enjoyable.

I was in a horror mode for a while

Watched a shit ton of different anime in this span. Pretty much all the popular ones

Most of them sucked something fierce but one I did enjoy was Another.

Tokyo Goul, Blood-C, Parasyte those are all shit imo

Pretty long and Epic One Punch Man Chapter. I love Murata's Art and get a kick out of ONE's writing.
Damn, how much coke did he do to put out that many pages?
