Anime and Manga v33

Bastard!!

Bastard isn't finished. And calling it a character driven story is sort of laughable. Not that it isn't enjoyable, but in no way does it match what he's asking for.

Does anyone have an manga recommendations for a good, character driven story with a sense of adventure? Preferably finished with a decent ending. Something like Full Metal Alchemist or Sengoku Youko.

Try Zero. The author is great! /trollolololo

I can never remember who's read what, so I'll just dump everything I can think of based on that criteria:
Feng Shen Ji
Shin Angyo Onshi
Historie
Kingdom
King of Thorn
Planetes
Psyren
Green Blood

Always like it when a Psyren recommendation comes up from time to time, gotta re-read that series at some point.

I gave Psyren a try for about 30 chapters a few months back and wasn't too impressed. Heard of all of them except for King of Thorns, so I'll give that a shot sometime this week.

Am I misreading this, or have you not read Shin Angyo Onshi? If you haven't that's the first one you should jump on.

I haven't read it. What makes it stand out from the rest?

It's one of the best dark fantasy series I've read. Berserk at it's best is better, but as a whole Shin Angyo Onshi is more consistent and has the bonus of being a completed story. It's just very well done from top to bottom.

Re: the copyright law, do you guys have a credible link regarding that?

Credible as in, something other than a random blog? Like, ANN?

Because I can't find anything credible about it. Fact is, plenty of series end suddenly and don't have proper endings, even though the series wasn't cancelled. It could be a mix of a lot of things. Maybe the author got tired of the series, maybe he just wants to move on to something else.

The author of HSDK is drawing three different oneshots. Maybe one of them turns into his next series?

I am in the middle of reading Psyren for the first time and it's good especially after the first chapters.

@GGpX well that's good to know....where's Shamo motherfucker?

+5 to the guy reading psyren.

Thought this would interest you guys. If you decide to get this, get it from Amazon for extra goodies. Check out the specs and such here.

let's hope Funimation don't slaps a ridiculous price tag on it.

oh right.

I remember that you posted that before and weren't you complaining about something?

So I finished Evangelion and I have to say I rather liked it...It tried to be too deep at times and around the midway point shifted the tone quite a bit but it was enjoyable...The ending didn't really bother me and from what I understand they had budget issues...
What I don't get is how it's considered complicated....I thought it was a rather straightforward analysis of the MC, nothing groundbreaking....I might want to watch the movie to get resolution on the other plot points...

Also started Code Geass, Fate/Zero and shingeki no kyojin...Enjoying the first two but there is something about the third that bothers me...Can't quite tell what it is though...

Hope what I wrote makes sense...Am a bit sleep deprived atm...

I think I might have to go with the Amazon Bebop bundle, those art books seem more worth it than a few art cards and prettier packaging.

I'm getting both. I already own the the original DVD per volume sets, the complete DVD collection, and the UK Blu ray collection.
