I found this fucking hilarious so I guess i'm good with animal cruelty in movies.

I mean if Michael Vick, DMX etc went to prison for animal cruelty why weren't they?
Cannibal Holocaust was an Italian film made in 1980 in Columbia.

Milo and Otis was never conclusively proven and made in Japan in 1986.

Different places, laws and times. You can do a lot more still if you shoot in a place that doesn't care. At least avoiding legal issues.

Or maybe I misunderstood your post

I think we may have our wires crossed. Vick and DMX were dog fighting. Despicable human beings.

I'd like to know where I've supported animal cruelty.
I'd hope you haven't.

I was just mocking the idea that anything can be done for the sake of artistic expression.

Art should have guardrails.

Although I paid to see Milo and Otis, and probably other movies that have shitty records with treatment of animals or people (Weinstein movies for example) and we're all probably partically complicit.

Artistic expression involving cruelty to animals...they need to be in prison. No exception. I have never watched a film or show where I take glee in watching such a thing.

Read somewhere that the horses “dying” are actually having fun as hell doing it. They apparently enjoy the acting and get rewarded in treats or something Not sure if it’s legit but I’m believing it.

Yeah essentially this is my whole reasoning in making the thread. The horses were never hurt but it can look bad sometimes but to me it's realistic and it makes the scene better.

Another example would be in Josey Wales when Josey has to basically tackle and pull the horses down to the ground to stop from being spotted.

Some might think it's animal abuse but I don't.

In my experience they are like big dogs. It can really be a problem with the size of them.

I say this as someone who eternally feels guilty for breaking in multiple horse as a child. They don't enjoy being rolled on their backs.
