Following online speculation that the brand of pizza featured in the video helped police confirm Tate’s presence in Romania, Thunberg quipped on Twitter that “this is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes”.

However, the anti-organised crime unit representative said it was not the case that Tate’s arrest had been made as a result of the pizza boxes.

law enforcement doesnt have a stellar track record when it comes down to catching criminals. and criminals always seem to wind up getting themselves caught in the dumbest ways possible. like the guys who accidentilly leave their own wallets behind during crime sprees. or sending police newer photos of themselves because they didnt like the picture of them the police were using in their Most Wanted ads. and all kinds of dumb shit you see on tv.

a rich guy getting hauled off to prison because of a pizza box wouldnt be too far-fetched compared to some of the other shit ive seen that turned out to be true. criminals do seem to have the oddest ways of slipping up and ultimately getting caught. i fucking love that kind of shit and find it very entertaining.

i wanted this one to be plausible, mostly for comical relief. i'll be the first to admit that i went for the feelings over facts on that one. i found it pretty hilarious. no harm was done in the making of that spin anyways, and its not like it was created into a gay lovers spat involving an 82 year old married man with 5 children playing hide the hammer with his secret gay lover while his wife was away on business.

what i hate about it is the fact that romania is a border country to Ukraine, where you have a fucking war going on, massive migration, super high security risks, the border guards are most likely super careful about anyone coming in, and romania's not even in the schengen agreement, so you get checked at the border anyway. given all these, the fact that a dude can somehow waltz right in through customs, not set off any flags from authorities looking for him (it's not like the traffic intelligence authorities do not cooperate with the border authorities) go right at his home where it is common knowledge for the police he resides, post on instagram a few times the days before about him being iin bucharest....etc, etc.

i was less upset about the fake news angle than i was about the supreme censorship of mental functions of people that didn't see through it. like, come on man.....
