Television ANDOR Season 2 (Premieres April 22)

The posters complaining about pacing or nothing happening should go watch Reacher or something. There's plenty of garbage TV out there with forced action every episode. We don't need your sensibilities ruining the only great thing we've got left in Star Wars.

I loved the first three episodes. I think it's consistent with the attention to detail and character we got in the first season. I don't mind more exposition, and I enjoyed them immensely.

MOAR, plz.

And the rebels on Yavin are supposed to be idiots - that's the point. IRL people do stupid shit every day and everyone in this show is a regular person, which means they're either an idiot or they have to deal with idiots on the regular, even canon bigwigs like Mothma.
Yep. The whole show is about how the Rebel Alliance comes together. At this point, the rebellion is incredibly fragmented and disorganized, and the armed components of it are largely inexperienced. The rebels on Yarvin illustrate this perfectly. Obviously, for every cell like Mel's in season 1 that more or less has their shit together, there's going to be another one that doesn't have a clue.

Honestly I thought the militia boys with no education past second grade who can't do anything right when their commander is clipped because they have no discipline and no chain of command were super realistic for a desperate insurgency.

For sure. These clowns going life or death rock, paper, scissors to work out the new chain of command (while Andor escapes) was f'ing awesome. And they're supposed to be on the same team LMFAO.

WTH is wrong with Lucasfilm that they can't hire more writers like Andors?

Is it because there are talentless female executives there hired for DEI?

Andor and Tales of the Jedi are the only two Star Wars properties that are good now.

Really loving the 2nd season and the visuals too.

One thing that is kind of off is that literally everyone is white. Doesn't make sense.

I'm one of those people that are against forced diversity - hate it actually. But EVERYONE being white is kind of stupid and doesn't make any sense.

I still think origin story of rebel alliance that force unleashed gives is still canon one lol

I like Sheldon's version better.

B-b-but the writing in this show is the best in all of Star Wars since the original trilogy!

Seems like the Mon Mothma techno dance song is some remix of Niamos(?) where S1E1 brothel scene had a slower sedated version playing softly in background. Will try to buy on iTunes when the soundtrack comes out.

It's a remix of a Wookie mating call.

EDM totally fits Star Wars and is definitely not anachronistic at all because the writing is flawless.

TBF Sheldon's version is better, but the rebels did a better job kayfabe selling theirs. They were going full eye of the tiger training montage.

B-b-but your post reminds me who got boned in this premiere: B2EMO. Homie just wanted some love but ends up getting left behind to get felt up and oil checked by some Imperial perv. :(

Then there's this dude. They kept playing up whether Mothma's spoiled daughter wanted to go through with the wedding but what about THIS poor fucker? His 14 year old ass should be riding his hover BMX around his dad's strip clubs dreaming about his first blowjob, not explaining to his bitchy "wife" why he just wants to go to Teras Kasi practice and play Call of Duty tonight. And yes, he's still planning to fix that broken moisture vaporator antenna this weekend.

On a side note,

I feel like they're setting the stage for Dedra to do something absolutely horrible. The scene with her dressing down Syril's mom was probably there to trick the audience into liking her a little bit, then when she goes full Nazi, we're left feeling conflicted

Interested how this will play out but I actually think they're setting up the opposite. Dedra is the most complicated character in the show after Luthen. So far she's been the ice queen, torturing the fuck out of Bix and disregarding innocent civilians like she DGAF.

But she's capable of empathy. In S1, she told her subordinate to go home when she realized how late it was (he declined). And now we see her smiling in the mirror, putting on her best outfit and being all domestic out of consideration for her fuckboi partner. She stands up to his mother because no one likes a controlling bitch, whether it's the Empire or a MIL all up in your shit.

Dedra started out Team Empire and was raised in an Imperial orphanage. But I think they'll reveal her "criminal" parents were Rebel "heroes" executed by the state. As she gets into the nitty gritty on Ghorman working with Rebels to foment a kayfabe uprising, I think she'll have a change of heart and end up on Team Rebellion. This will put her at odds with Syril who will stay Team Empire now that he's had a taste of being the man.

Could go either way, I'm just amazed that they got overbearing Long Island mothers in space. Some things are timeless.

If AOC was a trillionaire senator instead of a working class congresswoman.

Lol and what's even more awesome is using that overbearing Long Island mother as a metaphor for the Empire. Dedra could go either way I agree, but the more I think about it, the more likely I think my version is. Everyone else on this show operates in shades of gray and given she started S1 as the ultimate careerist robo-bitch, I don't see her ending S2 as the same but I could be wrong of course.

The very fact that you think that makes me feel like it's a setup to crush your dreams.

They'll tease you with her hinting at defecting, only to rat everyone out as a double agent.

It's what the ultimate careerist would do.

Lol, there was some thread on Reddit about that scene comparing her to the poster's Jewish mother, and every reply was "and my Italian mother", "and my Arab mother", "and my MAGA mother", etc. Apparently, overbearing mothers are the same across cultures.

See that's beautiful, cause they're actually nailing what humans would look like in space.

With fascist immigration officers attempting sexual assault and all. It's a war, humans are humans, aliens are alien, life wants to be free.
