Television ANDOR Season 2 (Premieres April 22)

Tough crowd in here. You guys think the writing/production quality is worse than S1?

To me it feels consistent. Even the flow of the first 3 episodes is similar to S1 with an exciting open, slow build and then some SHTF stuff. I also read some episode recaps to help me unpack everything. There are lots of easter eggs in there.

I'll be surprised if this doesn't get even better after next week's episodes, but this feels like the Better Call Saul of the SW universe. We know how this ends but hopefully it continues to be well-crafted with some surprises thrown in.
Brah it was 3 episodes thst should of been 1. It was pretty meh for me man. Maybe because I had such low expectations of season 1 I thought this was better an it is.

Episode 1 down. Aside from the opening, everything is either a snoozer or cringey.

What the fuck is up with the Jar-jar Binks looking fella in the jungle? Most annoying voice and presence in all of SW. Fuck that guy, I hope he gets smoked in the worst possible way.

The 360 video screen sound stage or whatever doesn't look good. And I'm not even watching in HD.

And they managed to make a scripted TV meeting even more boring than an actual office meeting.

I thought that was the point. The banality of a bureaucratic staff meeting on the potential upcoming holocaust of a planet.

I'll give them time to cook. S1 didn't really pick up for me until the prison episode.

They made 3 episodes out of what should of been 1. Wasted 2 episodes in all on straight boring filler.

It basically was one episode. They were contracted for 12 episodes but the producers said they wanted each 3-episode block to flow like a standard length movie representing 1-year periods leading up to Rogue One. The first 3 episodes had the 4 storylines (Andor, Mothma, Dedra, Bix) happening concurrently over a few days but it sounds like going forward, each 3-episode drop might jump around over a 1-year period.

Did you like S1? To me, what you're calling "boring filler" is what made the payoffs f'ing awesome. They're building out characters and plotlines WAY more realistically than normal SW. The banal corporate meeting with silk infomercial, Dedra stressing over what to wear and then putting Mrs. Karn in her place, the bungling Rebels "negotiating" via paper, rock, scissors LMFAO. All of that was gold.

Of course this only works if the show is awesome. Highfalutin slow burn "filler" is like showboating during a fight. It enhances the performance if you win. But if you lose, then you just suck. My money is on S2 getting its hand raised.

So glad this has finally started. Hate that they are doing the week to week schtick. Finishing up Mr Robot this week but I'll need to wait a bit before rewatching season 1 since this is going to take a bit to fully come out.

Screw the haters, I thought it was great. A lot of buildup obviously, but session 1 was the same way. It all paid off then, and I have every confidence it will now.

Also, RIP to a real one

Watched the 3rd ep and too much time spent on the Star Wars foreign language and wedding ceremony. A huge staff must have spent months coming up with that and Mon Mothma must have spent months in intensive training for her techno rave dance scene.

No issues with The Volume if they used that.

Not to mention the minutes long slow dramatic title name animation opening scene. It was moving so slowly I thought my Disney+ app froze and was only playing audio which it has done before.
