At age 21 - completing 22 next month - the young design student debuted in amateur Muay Thai with a second-round knockout over Nick Navarro at "WCK Full Rules Muaythai". Gabriel Silva now hopes to debut in MMA by the end of the year.

''I do not plan on being the next Anderson Silva or the next Jon Jones. I want my own space and I will conquer it. It's great luck to have him as a parent and mentor, absorb as much as possible to put into practice and be the best.''

Hopefully he does better than Ryan Couture

WAR Junior Silva!

Just frmo watching that little clip I can already tell he won't be as good as Silva.

Judging someone off of an amateur bout? lol, dude. Watch any fighter's first few amateur fights and you'll be surprised by how fucking shit they look.
He's 21 years old. A kid. Also the fight was like 20 secs long.

Edit: Oh, seems like he's just a troll.

Too bad Chris Leben doesn’t have a son the same age to be his opponent.

Kids of MMA fighters never seem to have the same level of sucess as their parents.

In this case it can be probably be explained by growing up comfortable vs growing up in favelas.

wish him the best.

I wonder if Anderson told him the dark truth about abusing steroids to condition your body for fighting.

I don’t think he wants that life of drugs for his son

at his age his dad was already going through hell at Chute Boxe's carnage and CTE inducing training. He was already a tae kwon do blackbelt also.
I dont think he wont get nearly as far as his dad.

There's just so many factors involved in mma, that genetics alone can't make you a great fighter. Mentality, skills, fight iq, etc...

Hopefully he can move out of his father's shadow. Not make the same mistakes would also do him wonders as well.

The dark truth meaning becoming one of the best ever and making lots of money?

Just frmo watching that little clip I can already tell he won't be as good as Silva. He won't make it IMO. He went in without analyzing his opponents speed, accuracy, reach like daddy does.

Also very sloppy strikes.

Yeah, I seen his spar and he doesnt look to have the fire and hunger like his old man did. He wants to be an MMA fighter to make his dad proud it looks.

Andersen worked at McDonald's by day and trained at night.

You don't think working at McDonald's for long hours and crap pay mixed in with thinking about how people probably looked down on him for his situation didn't give him extra incentives to train harder?

You think his son has that same level of dedication and motivation? Clearly he at least has one other serious hobby since he's a design student.
