i think the vets just need to go some sort of hybrid rule set.

like kyokushin, only body shots, except sometimes there are headshots, for reasons unknown and unclear.

and then you can throw in like 2 seconds for a takedown attempt/scramble.

It's a fight where any outcome is sad. Either one of them gets hurt or KOed, it's sad. If nobody gets hurt and they just move around and look like shit, it's sad.

But it's great for them if they can make good money from this and don't end up taking brain damage. I really hope this is for the type of paycheck I'm envisioning.

I respect that opinion, but personally I'm someone who can watch jackass or powerslap and enjoy it. If someone signs up for something then, they are a grown man. Silva and Weidman (sorta) are legends, who deserve the right to cash checks whenever they want, the most CTE they've had they've already received.

Silva just boxed Chael last year and went to decision, I'm sure this will be something similar. He even boxed Jake Paul and didn't get hurt too bad. This has exhibition all over it. I dunno, for a Silva fan like me this gives a slight closure to the Weidman saga if he pulls it off. I dunno, there are worse vet matchups. Weidman himself hasn't looked great since 2015 and broke his leg too. I just don't think this is the same as a mma fight with small gloves, where Silva would be fucked.

Unfortunately that's also my thought and I've always been a Silva fan. The first two fights vs Weidman were not fun to watch and I fear this could be the case in this third one also because of age.

If this boxing fight had happened 10 years ago or more this was an easy wins for Silva.

2 Japanese boxers just died from their latest bouts head trauma. Silva and Weizmann probably will not hit each other that much due to age cardio obstacles but not good for their brains. Guess grappling doesn’t pay as well. Even MMA is generally less head damage.
