I dont really see the issue...but i dont expect anything to be overly impressive about it..

Mildly intrigued.. probably will watch it..

But i dont think it's like some major thing or something..

This will be friendly sparring session. Won't watch but I hope they get paid.

Not true. He fought at UFC 310 in December 2024 and retired himself in January 2025. He wasn't "released".

If you retire while under contract with UFC, you can't unretire and sign with another promotion. He signed with GFL right after his retirement. UFC clearly let him go.

If you ever wondered which is the tougher sport, remember retired MMA fighters will box until they're 90. Think about it.
Danny Williams and Oliver McCall are still boxing
i think its more about money or a love of the game; they cant quit because its the thing thats brought them meaning throughout their lives.

but this 3rd Silva/teh Chris fight is unnecessary. itll probably look like Silva/Sonnen 3, just a friendly spar disguised as a real match.

Anderson is old af but has shown to be capable in a boxing ring. It's been over 10 years since Weidman has tko or ko'd anybody. His last finish was a submission over Gastelum in 2017. Of course we are excluding the eye poke finish that got overturned.. Can't eyepoke anybody with boxing gloves on, threat of the takedown is gone, harder to get a ko with big gloves and a 10 count.. I think Old silva tools him unless he has PTSD from the first 2 fights.

What a load of shite. Surely one of the lowest viewed events of the year

LOL these guys can't stay retired. Anderson is 50 yeras old.

Still if they want to bang.. let them bang bro. My money is on Anderson.

They both break their legs again I bet

I think Anderson wins. Whoever wins is irrelevant at his point as Silva is 50 and Weidman is a walking, talking manifestation of CTE.

UFC clearly let him go.
Huge mistake.
You know, with a deformed skull, broken leg, injuries all over his body, losing 8 of his last 11 fights,... he knows what he can do, he's just getting better and better, and he's going to show everybody

Weidman sure makes some bad career decisions. Even old Anderson probably KOs him here

No that guy was spot on.

Boxing is worse for the brain but infinitely easier on the body overall. These MMA guys have all the wear and tear from striking sports but even worse physical damage from all the grappling. Especially wrestlers. Their spines, necks and all other joints are destroyed. So of course it would be easier to just stand upright and throw punches.

They're both going to break their shins.
