Those weren't hard GNP punches...they were to simulate the follow up punches, practicing the reaction to follow your rocked opponent to the ground to earn the referee stoppage. Even the slightest hesitation in pursuing can allow an opponent to recover, and you perform in a fight the way that you train. Notice that the partner in head gear had his head in an up position and his leg in an almost butterflied half guard position...none of the posture you'd expect from someone who had truly been KO'd.
