If he wanted to be the goat.

That was his shining moment of opportunity.

Before Jon Jones got in there.

He had a fight at 205 already. He was dominant MW champion.

Instead of repeatedly calling out GSP to come to 185.

He would have been favoured against Shogun who was more or less shot.

It would have been legendary and he could have been the first real Champ Champ.

You could make the argument that calling out GSP to come up to 185 was more dangerous with less to gain.

I think Shogun would have mauled him. If we're talking 2009-2010

Lol obviously no. Do you really think that?
There was a reason why Android wanted to be BFF with jones and wanted to fight GSP

Dragon-Slayer Shogun beats Anderson. No-knees Shogun gets finished quicker than he was vs Jones.

His prime was that exact period between his 4th and 5th losses right? Anything before or after didn't count?

Shogun was no Forrrest or Irvin. He would have stomped on Ando.

Why were Champ vs Champ fights so unusual before Conor?

His prime consisted of a UFC record 16 fight win streak (17 overall) with 14 finishes, 11 title defenses, and 3 1st round LHW KOs

    Anderson knew Shogun really well.
If he didn’t make his case for a shot at a second belt, he knew better than us ‘doggers.

Nah, they spent too much time training together.

Too much legacy on the line for that fight.

I'm sure they would have fought in good spirits if their wasn't so much to lose.

Anderson would have KOd Shogun. Shogun did really well against Machida but Anderson proved to be more durable and Machida fought too aggressively in the second fight

Shogun mentioned he'd be open to fighting Anderson at one point. It caused a riff between them because Anderson said he'd never fight a friend. Shogun just saw it as a competitive fight but Anderson is one of those guys that says he'll never fight someone he trains with.

Conor never had one did he? Edit: I stand corrected.

BJ v GSP left a sour taste.
