And Michel Periera shut down a prospect

He lost that fight because he had a horrible weight cut and also was at peak circus clown, gassed out, and Connelly pounced (as any smart fighter would); not because of a lack of skill.

He has flown under the radar for a bit because of his Connelly gas out performance, and the illegal knee against Diego but he has all intangibles to fight for a title.

Judging by the Connelly fight I'd say he doesn't have all the intangibles to fight for a title, at least not right now. Also, everyone has issues going into fights. I'm sure Connelly had his own...like fighting on short notice and facing a guy that decided to miss weight.

It's hilarious how quickly hype trains get rolling.

Khaos was the bees knees when he quickly KOed Moreno and Hassan. Also with that evil stared down

But with all of Peiras tomfoolery he comfortably won. Even almost wrapped up a RNC. It was a strange night
I wouldn't say comfortably won. I thought he lost 29-28. He did a bunch of schuck and jive or as Bisping stated iirc "a lot of show and no go."

A failed RNC that wasn't remotely close to dangerous (no hooks in) at the last few seconds after doing nothing and getting outstruck doesn't deserve a round IMO.

ive never watched or heard of either guy and thought Williams did enough to win.

But he was very hesitant at times and the other guy clearly had a huge edge on the ground.

Problem is he didnt go for takedowns or anything until like the last 1.3 rounds, and when he did he looked great. But he got clipped with clean bombs for the rest of the fight consistently. While he jumped around alot and threw dumb shit.

I did not agree with the decision. And have little expectations for either, but the guy that "lost" impressed me more.

Hype train?

God that phrase has been butchered to hell on here <Lmaoo>

The ones that always get brought up are Johnny Walker and Khamzat.

Johnny Walker has been a top 10 LHW for going on 2 years?

Most recently in September beat then #11 Ryan Spann and is due for a matchup with Anthony Smith or a top 5 opponent sometime early next year? Could very easily end up fighting for the belt before years end if he fights Anthony Smith next and then gets the good fortune of fighting Jiri.

Khamzat is fighting #3 next month who has not fought in 1.5 years? If he beats Leon (which I dont believe he will) you don't think he is going to fight for a title the next time the UFC goes to fight Island?

It sound like hype train on here means a fighter who trended on twitter during their first fight, has had sustained success, and some miserable people like to hate on?

If Michel is the next hype train and follows the trajectory of the last two 'hype trains' it sounds like he will end up fighting for the title.

Even though Khaos landed the more strikes it was Pereira td's that won him that fight.
At some point, fighters like Khaos needed a fighter that can move and test his abilities.
Pereira exposed him and hopefully Khaos will learn.

That's quite the tangent you've gone on there. Congratulations.

Enjoy riding the train to Michel "fighting for the title" ;)

I actually said in the post we haven't seen what his peak performance looks like so his ceiling is hard to determine. Poor reading comprehension? Illiterate?

But sure, Michel (biggest WW) fighting for a title someday, does not seem out of the question.

Your words: "he has all intangibles to fight for a title"

Ask yourself the questions you've posed little one. Enjoy the ride.

Googled his UFC highlights. I swear two vids and a large part of them were ghis break dancing before the fight and him stepping off the cage and swinging and hitting air.

Ive remember seeing one fight of his live and the only thing I remember is this. Huge athletic movements but he never lands with any consistency. To this point im suprised he hasnt been knocked out running and jumping around with his head up, chin out, and hands down.
I thinks hes winning basically because his opponents dont have access to partners that can emulate his style and theyre frightened of his strangeness. It also gives him octogon control in the judges cards.

Overall, this combined with the fact he got outstruck in this fight I say he barely derailed it. More like crazy person running on the tracks and the conductor had to slow down to not run him over amd now there will be a slight schedule change.

That was the one fight I missed cause the bourbon was low. Worth a watch?

Yeah it was a good back and forth, if Michel fought the same way throughout his career I reckon he wouldn't have double digit losses.

Khaos is just one dimensional but he hurts thats for sure

Had Khaos 2-1, not sure how michel got the win
He almost choked out Khaos after a close second round (saved by the bell) and then got a takedown and GnP in round 3

Khaos landed more total strikes but Pereira landed some heavy ones too, and Khaos showed nothing in the grappling department

Ive only seen Khaos vs. Hassan. Not really impressed by him today really. He has a fast trigger and big power. Little else. In his division in the UFC, it gets you as far as he got today.

Pereira was awkward enough to not get hit, but there seemed nothing dangerous about him.

Na they both had a lot of respect for each other’s strikes so were both tentative. I had a couple hund on michel so that was nice lol but sucks was mot the exciting fight you would imagine from that matchup
