I respect the heart of Smith to take the beatings he took. Not a bashing thread at all. I need someone on this here karate forum to explain a few things.
What the hell has Anthony Smith ever had come out of his mouth but his mufuckin teeth that would make mma fans interested enough to warrant his side gig as a commentator? What incredible tear did Smith go through to get a title shot? What popularity did Smith ever get that wasn’t forced down our throat that kept him on PPV instead of the prelim level fighter he was? Is he Dana’s secret love child? Respect to his career and retirement but it just doesn’t make a lick of sense what has occurred. Even the attacker on that dude in particular in his home getting huge amounts of “undue” gigs and hype starts to look strange. Was the wrestler mad Smith was getting Dana White privileges? I dunno. I lean on my sherfamily on these things.

His best days re behind him. He knows the sport but it’s clear to all that he is destined for retirement. He just doesn’t have the pop or energy to hang with the newer fighters

sherdog says anthony smith is 6'4" tall. this is 100% false as i am actually 6'4" tall and have a picture of me with smith who i completely tower over... looking down on him in my picture id say he isnt even 6 foot tall. he should be fighting at 170 or 185.

He didn´t run Jones record by taking a DQ. UFC loved that. He also didn´t bad mouth Jones for the illegal knee. He comes to fight always. In the first half of his UFC career he was a apsolute beast. Just the last 1/3 he fell off phisically and posters are judging it. He had like 60 fights almost. But he used to be very agressive and dynamic.
Posters just hate him cause he thinks he still could have beaten guys who beat him, as a competitor he sort of tells himself yeah I could won vs that guy if I did it different.

He's a decent analyst, no worse than the other fighters and former fighters at the desk. Though he has said some weird/biased stuff before, like when he said the undefeated guy who dog walked him for 25 minutes "wasn't that good."
