I don't get why everyone thinks they know what an interim belt is supposed to be.** What's the big deal if an interim belt is defended? I think it's a good thing. For all intents and purposes that fighter IS the divisions champion until the beltholder returns.

And if the belt holder returns and loses to the interim champ them all of those interim title fights should be retroactively changed to title defenses.
