Americans just can't compete in international sports. That is why there are no American champions

This is the reason they claim to be world champions when they win a sport that's labelled national <lmao>
players from all over the world play in those sports though. the best of the best often want to make the most money, so they come to play in american sports.

I dont have a problem with Americans at all and if anything preferred the UFC when it was all Chuck, Randy, Tito, BJ etc, but it is pretty hilarious how in the last few years these cope arguments regarding fading American relevance in MMA have emerged. Muh best athletes, muh low pay, acting like every country in the world cares more about MMA than the US etc etc. As though its so hard to just accept that all that really happened is the talent pool got more international over time and that certain nationalities (Russians being an obvious one) are just far better at fighting on average.

This already happen to some degree WITHIN America, remember when Floyd said back in the 00s "The UFC is for white guys that cant box" and lets be real, he wasnt entirely wrong. It was originally a haven for white Americans to be tough and compete at a high level in a professional combat sport since they had been irrelevant in boxing for many decades. Then the sport grew, the demographics diversified, and that stopped.

I dropped a post full of statistics showing MMA moving at about half the rate since 2020ish in the US and a few other places, but yeah that's all just cope.

OP and the Euromanlets rule the athletic world... even though the US likely sits on more Olympic medals.

The only reason the yanks along with the Chinese do so well at the Olympics and stuff is because their population is huge compared to the rest so there's more and more of them doing it.

America only has a bit over double the Golds and Silvers compared to Australia, yet they have a population of 340 million to 26 million.

If we Australians had 340 million there wouldn't be any medals left over for the yanks.

We also don't have athletics and shit in school and college like America and China do.

Australia is way better at MMA too. We have 2 UFC champs right now at the same time. America has . . . Kayla haha.
So get your sorry asses out there and start reproducing. Procreate! It's all about population (nevermind the 300 million fat fucks here, we're all Olympic athletes :))

You're on an island full of blondes. Have more sex make more kids, get more medals, make less excuses.

American MMA has a few issues. There is no real good amateur sanctioning organization that serves as a pathway to international or professional competition. The top amateurs rarely fight each other unless they are located in the same region and a promoter is willing to make it happen. Amateur MMA shows in America are regional promoters trying to sell tickets using free labor.

There are international amateur MMA tournaments like IMMAF. Currently America has very little presence in those shows and the American fighters that compete there are from weird TMA gyms. The rankings are dominated by Central Asians and Europeans. It makes me happy to see someone like Joe Stevenson coaching young fighters and taking them to international competitions. There is no money in developing amateurs and it requires love of the game.
I think this touches on the main thing.

America still mostly draws its fighters from wrestling. They're naturally going to be way behind if they don't start trying to develop other skills until their 20s.

Meanwhile, fighters from other countries are getting more MMA specific training and experience much younger, especially the Caucasus fighters with their combat sambo.

Well, it appears that the Americans can’t handle the fact that they suck in every sport played outside America. Let’s counter each cope that I see on the board.

First cope: MMA does not pay enough for American fighters, so Americans go play other sports.

Guess what: MMA doesn’t pay enough compared to football (football, not American hand‑egg) either. Football players’ salaries are far bigger than MMA fighters’.

Second cope: People from third‑world countries make a lot more money, which is why they dominate. The dollars simply go further.

Look, folks. Topuria lives in Spain, Pantoja in the USA, Merab in the USA, Volk in Australia, Tom in England, and Maddalena also in Australia. All those countries are first‑world and have an expensive cost of living. There are just two champions in third‑world countries—make no excuses.

Third cope: MMA is just more popular in other countries!

No, it’s not. The most popular sport in the world is football, and even kids in Dagestan dream about being football players. Even in Russia and Brazil, MMA is a niche sport, far from being popular.

The sad truth is that Americans can’t compete internationally. They can’t handle being in a sport they don’t dominate, so they quit. What happened in tennis will happen in MMA. Give it a few years and Americans will just give up. They simply can’t compete in a sport that any other country plays seriously. Even an American sport like baseball is dominated by Dominicans. They almost lost in basketball to a country with three million people ,yikes.
Good troll thread. I can enjoy.

Jimmies thoroughly rustled no doubt

John Jones started a chapter in history where there are no Black champions and no American champions

All by quitting

Very shameful

You would think you would be defending that belt with the last ounce of his blackness and American pride would carry him through, but I guess not he's just gonna the British takeover without a fight.

Truly sad

TS got bitch slapped by a big American dick at one point.

US has a diverse enough gene pool to be able to dominate every sport

Its all about what is popular... what do kids in park want to play

A lot of American kids today unfortunately would rather stay inside and play video games

Considering America does well in the Olympics this premise is pretty flawed.

Also, how is basketball not an international sport lmao. It's one of the most popular sports on the planet, significantly more than MMA.

For single sports, golf is a pretty popular sport - top guys are American? Boxing has a bunch of American champs (and pretty much always has).

UFC has less American champions because the UFC is promoted in more countries where before it was only promoted in America (and thus their roster consist of more great fighters from different places). That's literally the biggest reason by far. It's not rocket science. It's not exclusively America and Brazil anymore on the cards.

What's weird is that people love to pretend that "Non-America" is a country. Like, USA still has plenty of great fighters - just because it doesn't have more elite fighters than the ENTIRE FIELD doesn't mean that they are a weak country.

Americans are not good at driving so they made NASCAR

Americans are not good at football so they made pad ball and cakes it football.

Americans started sucking at boxing so they flocked to mma.

Now they're starting to suck at mma so they're going to bjj

OP you're comparing the entire world's population against just the US. The EU alone has 1.5 times our population.

The pool of athletes in the entire world is much larger than just the US.

well you responded to the post, didnt you?
bet you feel silly now.
I responded to a thread about American athletes, and someone brought up women who have no business fighting and should be making me a sandwich instead. Just pointing out obvious thread derailment sherbro.
