International American Imperialism

It's incredibly obnoxious and puts the US government in a bad light, especially with what Russia has been doing in Ukraine.

Hopefully this whole thing will go away quietly once Trump realizes that there's no support for any land grabs. The U.S. has more than enough resources and they'll just need to learn how to live with what they've already got.

America first. Not Greenland, Mexico or Canada, or whatever. Put the focus on the U.S.

His Russian handlers are making him do this to cause discord inside of NATO and distract from Ukraine.

It's like when Putin made Maduro say that he was going to take Esequiba from Guyana by force. And then crickets...it was just a distraction.

American Imperialism seems to have stopped with the acquisition of Puerto Rico, Guam, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and the Philippines. So America has not acquired any new territory for over 100 years.

But now we have new talks of acquiring new land. At first it appeared Trump.was just trolling the leader of Canada by calling him "Governor Trudeau" and referring to Canada as the 51st state. Trump trolled the unpopular Trudeau to resignation. But the talk of taking over Canada continued after Trudeau quit.

There is significant talk of taking over Canada, Greenland where Trump Jr. is currently visiting, parts of Mexico as some originally wanted different boundary lines, and getting the Panama Canal back, which previously was owned by the US. Finally there is talk of changing the name of The Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which could put further pressure on the independent island countries there.

Should America acquire more land? Or should Imperialism be a relic of the American past?

While I don't think hes serious, it doesn't make sense to expand and buy up poorer countries. Outside of natural resources, taking on struggling economies hurts more than helps imo.

I was responding to the comment about how Obama did nothing for Israel.

Go look at the 200 billion number. It is from a trade deficit. It’s not direct aid. The actual number is around 60 billion. The US imports a lot of lumber and other goods from Canada.
And Obama indeed did nothing. It is Israel who decided to renew the contract. They could sign it with Trump instead of Obama and get much more.
You wouldn't believe but the US and Israel also have economic relations. Israeli investment in the United States amounts to $41.6 billion as of 2021

Israel received record amount of military aid under Obama's administration. That is nothing to you. Obama also allocated millions for Israeli research and development towards mapping and tunnel detection. Obama also gave an additional 500 million for missile defense.

People who hate the US for starting wars are either hypocrite muslims or people who were always weak af in all of the history
For example muslims still celebrate Ottomans, Umayyad Caliphate and every other muslim invaders but they are against war when it comes to others lmao

It is not because of Obama. The contract would be signed with or without him. There was a contract for 30 billion before him. And 30 billion in 2008-2018 are probably even more that 38 billion in 2018-2028.
Oh and now all the money he "gave" and more will be spent on getting rid of Iran's nuclear weapons, which are nearing completion thanks to Obama.

Moreover, they believe that everything the US does outside its borders is aimed at wasting their tax money.

I didnt take it seriously at first. He trolled Trudeau into quitting. Nothing more.

But he hasnt stopped and sent Jr. to Greenland. Also he bought properties all over the world pre Presidencey. Maybe he will start acquiring countries now.

Will see what happens.
