Am I the only one who thinks Colby is desparately trying to get into pro-wrestling?

I think he is desperately trying to be Chael 2.0 which he is not capable of.
Yep, Chael was at least witty and actually hilarious at times. Plus Chael's shit talk always had an element of tongue in cheekness to it. Colby just comes off as a mean spirited asshole, and who wants to support someone like that? Also, Chael never told another fighter that their deceased father is burning in Hell.

Kurt angle Colby is not. He'd be a trash pro wrestler frankly, and he'd look like a midget compared to everyone on the roster.

Isn't there a bunch of small women on the roster?

And everyone is saying Colby would be trash on the mic...so he would definitely fit in with pro wresting, since the "mic skills" of 99% of pro wrestlers are absolutely pitiful.

Yeah you are the only one, he always talked shit and Hulk walked with him because he endorsed Trump

Definitely desperate. I don’t know about the wwe part though

He would fail miserably, he lacks size, muscles, charisma, appearance, youth, mic skills, training, physical gifts, etc.

And on top of that he is just an unlikeable person.

I'm not saying Colby is a natural fit...and I honestly couldn't care less about pro wrestling in general...but he could potentially address those shortcomings?

I assume he could juice in WWE, adopt an even more exaggerated character since that audience tolerates 'shtick' even more, work with some pros who can improve his ring and mic skills, and continue to play the heel since no one likes him already.

If he wants to lean into his MAGAtard thing, he now has four more years to run with it too.

I'm certainly not saying he is the next Rock or Stone Cold...but...maybe he can make a run at it and do ok. I never wish ill on any pro fighter looking to do something else when they are done. MMA is a thankless career for most...hopefully more fighters can parlay it into something afterwards other than just coaching.

Colby biggest issue would his age, he is already pretty old and the MMA and wrestling tear would be very high to start over as a pro wrestler, he can overcome most of those issue but not all I think, on top of that despite him being heel and playing the Trump supporter angle I just don't think he is very marketable but that is my opinion.

Sure he can have an ok career maybe in AEW or TNA but I'm not sure if he would settle for that after having all the success he had in the UFC.

If he wants to go in a traditional way, maybe he can coach fighters but with his rep and since he burned a lot of bridges who knows if that would work out for him.

He's going to be 37 in 2 months and knows for a fact he's at the end of his UFC career.

Even at his athletic peak he didn't 100% believe he would become champion (basically choked against Kamaru and Leon).

So in his last match he walks out for Hulk Hogan and is coached by self-marketing pioneer Chael Sonnen:

More than anything he probably wants to continue his high income lifestyle after his UFC career is over but he's just not a good candidate for WWE.

We all know he talks a lot but his mic skills are bad. He stutters, he messes up lines, he doesn't have good dictation. He's not Chael Sonnen or Conor McGregor.

He's also small for pro-wrestling star standards. The small dudes in the sport are few and they have to serve special niche type of characters.
Nope. It was suggested years ago.

If Ronda and Logan Paul can be successful pro wrestlers, I’m sure Colby can too. I wouldn’t use the word “desperate “
Lol, it'd be funny if David Arquette proved he was more capable in professional wrestling than Colby.

Chael can also tell a good story.
If you havent heard/seen it when he talks about his mom almost shooting Okami, you should.

I think he wanted prime Conor success in MMA, which would include all the entertainment aspects he enjoys about pro wrestling, while maintaining a legitimate tough guy "this isn't scripted" persona. Pro wrestling isn't gonna scratch that itch, as they are perceived as stunt performers, not fighters.

And right now - blasting your body in current day match-mark/high work-rate era of wrestling, where personality and look isn't even important anymore, just sounds like misery at 37. I think he'd be better off picking up 3 more Ls in MMA for the next 2-3 years than become a weekly work rate monkey at WWE. Probably be less millage on his body.

Ultimately, I think he just wants to entertain and make money off of it, but, unfortunately, he's no prime Chael or prime Conor. Or even Strickland. Pro wrestling , movies, some sort of an online show... hard to imagine him carrying one by himself.

You are not the only one, no.

No, you need charisma for that. Dude doesnt even have charisma enough for MMA.

Those are stars, Colby isnt.

Possibly, but he's too small for that crowd. If they gave him a shot, he'd probably be billed as a collegiate wrestler type (ear-guards, singlet) with a big mouth but a 'pipsqueak'. There'd definitely be a feud with a bigger guy who holds him at arm's length by the forehead while he swings at empty air, that type of stuff. Would probably get a few laughs.
