Am I the only one that finds it kind of strange to give your mom roses?

In my mind roses are for your wife/gf. Giving them to your mom seems kinda odd to me. Anyone else feel like this? Luckily my mom likes tulips so I get her those. Anyway hope y'all treating yours mom's for mother's day
