Alternative Pyramid Theories

Come on . . . didn't y'all watch Stargate?

Pretty damn sure Kurt Russell didn't build the great pyramid...

...but he did tell Wang unapologetically to "listen up"n in Big Trouble so I wouldn't put it past him. Accomplished gentelman that Kurt Russell.

I know nothing of engineering, but I really don't get any of these weird explanations. This stuff is certainly math and science.

Here is an important point to consider:

The Egyptians spent a larger percentage of time and resources on religion than any other civilization in history. I don't know if that can be proven, but I have heard it from a good source and scholar of the subject. Anyway, they spent a ton of money on that shit regardless. That is what happens when you spend a lot of money on religious stuff, you get massive religious things. That is what belief looks like. How could you not believe in the Gods in Egypt? If you take something that seriously and are true to it, you can build big things.

They are also the biggest failures in history. They were meant to protect things and couldn't even do that.

Any time someone brings up "they had a lot of time on their hands" or "they were superstitious" in terms of explaining technological feats of ancient people, alarm bells go off.

No amount of religiosity or hard backbreaking work explains what we find in Giza...yet there it is.

Egypt is also not some monolithic thing either, it was conquered by peoples of many different origins throughout its history...on top of that, we have ZERO clue as to what resources in specificity old kingdom Egypt had, there just aren't detailed records of such things...which sort of makes any point about dissemination of resources a little silly.

Also, in your first sentence, you admit something that makes understanding why some people have issues with the orthodox story a problem. You don't have to be an engineer to understand the great pyramid, but you need to listen to what engineers, stone masons and machinists say about the great pyramid and how incredibly difficult it would be to achieve even today in order to understand how ridiculous the mainstream story on it is.

Last but not least, they were failures if you believe they are tombs...which they clearly, based on the evidence at hand, were never created to be.

Davidovits and friends believe the blocks were actually poured like concrete

I have heard it explained quite a few times by experts and there is nothing mysterious about it. Only the details are missing, which is not unexpected given the subject. That is where conspiracy theories thrive. It is a god of gaps argument.

en sabah nur built the pyramids. i saw it @ the end of xmen so it must b true

I remember at least once we had a pyramid thread in here that got about as heated as a tipping thread.

What has been explained quite a few times and by whom? If you're talking about Egyptology describing construction methods of those buildings, that is ridiculous. It's not their expertise at all.

and you're right, the details of the structures are missing...namely the actual toolset that was used to create them.

The issue of the building techniques used and the materials that created them have zero to do with conspiracy theories. The tools Egyptologists say were used to build the Great Pyramid are simply incapable of doing the job...especially if you're taking Egyptology's word for it (which you are) when their other contention is that it was done in 20 years. No amount of elbow grease or sheer numbers is doing that with brute strength and grit period, let alone how in the time allotted.

It's irresponsible to start throwing around "conspiracy theory" when there is no conspiracy.

Davidovits and friends believe the blocks were actually poured like concrete

I don't think that idea is totally crazy but if it is true it's only partially true. It would make the construction easier, but it created a whole new set of issues...namely how did they get composite limestone, de-fragment it and than become expert cement masons in a time when nothing like that was supposed to be known?

One theory I heard once regarding the pyramids, but I've seen 0 since so perhaps it has been easily disproven, but that the blocks are a mold. They basically poured them and let them harden in the sun. This would explain away thousands and thousands of slaves, and two mile long ramps etc. Just pour the mold, let it harden, repeat. It also explains why there was such precision. The person whom told me this theory says that apparently an unused block was found and in the middle of the block they found human hair. I've actually researched that though, and I've never seen that story anywhere.

Hey.

Is there any credible writeup/video for what experts, or you believe was behind the pyramids? Read through this thread and I'm finding it fascinating.

Is it your expertise?

You keep on referring to the "orthodox" explanations. What is your point exactly? Why do these people keep repeating these lies?

That Egyptians took their Gods very seriously and spent much time and resources on them is relevant to the subject regardless of whether you see that.

the second video in the first post is credible and has engineers attesting to the issues relating to building the pyramids.

In brief, the orthodox mainstream academic view (which is for the most part over 100 years old) is that Khufu built the great pyramid of Giza in 20 years as a tomb for himself. The only evidence for this is a writing in an upper relieving chamber of the great pyramid that says something along the lines of "brotherhood of Khufu" (now thought to be a forgery as it has late 1800's translation errors in it) and that Khufu built structures near the pyramid. There are no documents saying anything about the construction of the pyramid anywhere. There has also not been 1 burial contemporary to the building of any pyramid ever found in any of the over 80 pyramids in Egypt.

I'm well versed enough to know that Geologists are more reliable than Egyptologists about dating weathered stone...that doesn't stop Egyptologists from continuing to dismiss Geologists interpretations of weathered rock at Giza. I'm well versed enough to understand that when an engineer or machinist or stone mason says one thing and an Egyptologists disagrees because a 100 year old book says another thing about the method of stone working, I get who is full of shit and who isn't.

You're using an appeal to authority, you're just using the wrong one. By orthodox, I mean Egytological views that are over a century old.

Basically what you are saying is large stone blocks that are perfectly flat (and I mean to thousandths of an inch accuracy) across surfaces over six feet in length are that way because religion and resources, even though it's impossible to do with the tools that are in the record. Interesting tack.

you don't want the opinion of a historian normally when trying to describe how a building was constructed. You want someone who actually understanding construction and engineering.

pyramids mark geodetic power spots around the planet for refueling alien spaceships as was illustrated in ancient astronauts series

Wouldn't the alien spaceships be able to get by with just a sign or marker beacon. I am sure they would have the kind of ability to use smaller markers. Humans in aircraft get by on with a little paint on a grass field.

I swear, jonesbones fits the very description of what orthodoxy means. Dude cannot think for himself on anything. If some "expert" tells him something, it must be true, regardless of all the contrary evidence.
