Apologies if this had already been covered too many times. I did try and search the forum.

I have trouble focusing and being sharp sometimes especially when studying. Part of it I'm sure is because the shit is boring however, still need to focus more. Joe Rogan talks about "Alpha Brain" which is a nutropic that is said to focus one better. I've read a lot of negative reviews and cannot fully trust Mr. Rogan sinve he's getting a cut from it. Anyone have any thoughts and experiences on Alpha Brain? Thanks.

GPC Choline – 100 mg
Derived from lecithin, Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline is a phospholipid metabolite found concentrated in neuronal membranes. Unlike less expensive forms of Choline such as Choline Bitrartate, GPC choline is well absorbed and easily crosses the blood brain barrier. Once delivered it supports brain function and learning processes by directly increasing the synthesis and secretion of acetylcholine. Strong acetylcholine has been linked to memory, focus, mental drive, REM sleep states, and the prevention of mental degradation such as in Alzheimers.

i personally don't buy into the supplements that supposedly help mental function. i use zma for the better sleep quality and then some coffee/tea for caffeine to keep me sharp/alert.

I getting the feel that you're right and that it's not legit.

Nootropics most certainly do have an effect. I am not too familiar with them that much so cant really off much advice on it, sorry.

I would go check and mindandmuscle.net, they have a nootropic section and could help you a lot better.

Fish oils and caffeine are both helpful. I'm skeptical of everything else.

I don't know much about nootropics, but anaesthetising yourself for the sake of increasing your tolerance for boredom doesn't strike me as very wise.

I thought you were pro-nootropics? I understand the "increasing" tolerance as an issue but I can't see why that would not be relevant for anything else. You build a tolerance for virtually anything you routine regularly... food, alcohol, running, weights, etc.

It's not about the nootropics, it's about the context.

I have been taking alpha brain for around 3 weeks now.

i dont feel some of the effects advertised, for example i dont feel as though i have better memory, form sentences better etc, but i do feel as though when i wake up, i am more awake, if you get what i mean.

i take 1 pill in the morning and 1 late afternoon, around 5-6ish, and i feel a lot less tired when i wake up in the morning.

I also have crazy dreams, Rogan describes his dreams on the podcast, and i definatly have/remember my dreams a lot more since taking Alpha Brain.

Obviously the results will differ for everyone.

It's not for boredom chief it's to help me better focus for school and other areas of my life.

I get the idea that the more susceptible your are and how you take care of yourself are how these products affect you. If you drink like a fish and eat like shit it might not do anything but, if you take pretty good care of yourself and eat well you might benefit from it. I'm not looking for a Bradley Cooper Limitless miracle drug, just something to help me focus better.

De-congestion medicine with psuedophedrine or pure ephedrine if you can find it at gas stations. You'll be alert all day long. It's a shame ephedrine is hard to find since it can be synthesized to meth.

Yea is ephedrine really that horrible or did people mis use it. Like I heard wrestlers were taking it without water an taking up to 3 times the acceptable dosage. I think a place a few towns over from me still sells it.

Weight loss, alertness, clears your sinuses and suppresses your appetite a bit. There are very few side effects.

It was banned because people were combining ephedrine with caffeine and other stimulants and then overexerting themselves. Of course that could cause problems. Also, in large quantities it can be synthesized into meth which the government jumped on.

Try taking Sudafed or a similar drug with psuedoephedrine when you are not sick and tell me you don't feel alert and full of energy. Actual ephedrine I'm sure is even better.

Yo bro check out the Total Balance by the X-tend a life company, they are an all natural supplement that has 87-94 ingredients and some of the ingredients that are in the alpha brain are included but the difference is that they have scientific studies to back up the product and when your buying any of these kinds of products always look for studies and credentials. Also with the alpha brain it seems like those dudes on the site giving their testimonials it seems like they're 1)over exaggerating 2)are getting paid for it 3)bought into the hype that Joe organ uses it and are feeling the placebo effect. Also check out the near naturals line bynthe same company. The website is Elite supplements and Skincare products from Xtend-Life Natural products, New Zealand
