All Time GOAT poll

Everyone knows Fedor and GSP are the only 2 GOATs. Jones was a cheater. Anderson is up there but also cheated (later in his career for sure ). Aldo and MM were very dominant for their time as well. I think MM may have had the most talent and best skill set.

The GOAT!

Are we really going the whole "GSP fought tougher competition route". Really?

yes

beat twice the WW goat of the time Hughes
the LW goat Penn

Fitch on a 16 fights win streak
Shield on a 15 wins streak.

GSP had the best MMA career of all time.

I thought GSP beat Hendricks?

At the time it was considered a robbery. Not just by sherdog but by the UFC and the entire media core. As time passed people saw a win on GSPs record and became rationalizing and spinning it into just another close decision like Jones v Gus.

Also wild how everyone ignores the fact he retired after that fight(he was 31 or 32) and refused to give Hendricks the rematch. So there's that.

Khabib is my all-time favourite fighter by a MILE...
But I too think GSP is the GOAT.
Beat every fighter he faced. Avenged his only losses brutally.
Strength of schedule
HECKA title defenses
Well-roundedness
No drug test failures.
And I know most people don't count this, but he also just seems like a quality human being.

If we're not counting being a dick or failing multiple drug tests, then...

GSP got pieced up by Matt Serra in his first title defense and then got brutally knocked around by a one-dimensional, one-punch wrestler while he was in his prime.
The way he quietly retired and disappeared after getting fucked up like that showed his true character.

Fitch was the only impressive win of his career. Shields was an impressive opponent not an impressive fight. There's a difference.

Counting Hughes title defenses from 2002 shouldn't mean anything.

Henatch got pieced up by his own mouth on Sherdog and then got brutally knocked around by a one-dimensional, one-punch poster named Mr Wings while he was in his posting prime.
The way he quietly retired from Sherdog and disappeared after getting fucked up like that showed his true kind character and was appreciated greatly on the forum.

Really? Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’ll figure this thing out.

Troll game needs a lot of work. Way too transparent.

Where was the Hendricks rematch

Where was the Whittaker fight

He won the Hendricks fight on a 10pts scoring system.

Why Dana was scared and refused to give him Khabib?

Because he knew GSP was going to beat him and become a 3 division champ.

Who are your top 5 GOATS in Every Weight class in MMA HIstory?
Edit: Since there are a lot of weightclasses you don't have to name your top 5 in every weight class if you don't want to.

Fedor beat the best HWs of his generation in their prime when they were in their 20s. These HWs would be elite HWs today.
Fedor, as Pride HW Champion, had three defenses against legitimately booked title contenders - the first Coleman fight, Big Nog, and Cro Cop. The rest of his Pride fights as champion were a mix of squash matches, fights against good aging fighters with recent losses that meant they should not have been sniffing a HW title shot, and Mark Hunt. Most of his bookings were at least as ridiculous as DC defending against Dan Henderson.

Fedor is still the HW GOAT, but his record is more padded than a Dolly Parton impersonator.
