All Time GOAT poll

People have this misconception that the amount of training required to perform at these levels are possible without having 1 in a million genetics. Watch Icarus. Highlevel atheletes. Are. On. Drugs. whether you like it or not.
Hell if a claim and you have no evidence of this.

Happily…it’s not Jones. It’s great to see that most Sherdoggers recognize that fact.

The poll isn't really valid anymore since the vast majority of the votes were cast before Jones won the HW belt.

Sure, you can change your vote, but how many people are actually gonna bother, not to mention that a lot of voters are either banned or absent from Sherdog for different reasons.

Jones could very well be the actual #1.

Maybe he'll get KOed next year to show us he was never any good.

Have to say GSP. Crushed the rematch in both his losses and never tested positive for anything.

If Jon Jones was clean, he'd be number 1 by a mile. He cleaned out the division and made it look easy when he wasn't asking it serious.

And that can be said about all the goat candidates. It is easy to find reasons they Are not the greatest. It is still hard to argue against a guy that went 30 fights 10 years undefeated at HW.

Caliber of opponents. If you think that Fedor padded his recorded with cans like washed up Sylvia and Arlovski, Zulizhino, Ogawa, Goodridge, and Brett Rogers then went on a losing skid against a Middleweight and a gatekeeper then started padding his record with cans again Fedor's record is questionable.

You also have Pride's questionable reffing, rumours of fight fixing and substance use stance I'm shocked anyone takes Fedor as seriously as a goat. Jones even with steroids is miles ahead in my book.

“Washed up” Sylvia and Arlovksi?? Say what?
Arlovski was the #2 ranked HW in the world when he fought Fedor. He was on a 5 fight win streak that included Werdum, Rothwell, and Roy Nelson. Tim Sylvia had been 7-2 in his previous 9 fights going into the Fedor fight; he had beaten Arlovksi twice along with Monson and Vera in that run, and only lost to Couture and Big Nog. He was only 16 months removed from being UFC champion, and was coming off of a fight for the UFC Interim HW belt.

Also, Goodridge is not a can. Rogers isn’t either, really, and it makes no sense at all to say that Fedor was padding his record with Rogers, when Rogers was 10-0 going into that fight.

Sylvia went on a losing streak, yes he was washed. Rogers was a pretender and literally washed out of mma. Fedor's best win is Nog. His resume was padded right up until he started his own losing streak. He really should have fought the best.

—If that’s your definition of washed, then Jones has a hunch of washed fighters on his resume. Sylvia was top 5 in the world at the time, less than a year and a half removed from being UFC champ.

—I think it’s pretty well known that Rogers didn’t amount to anything in MMA. What I took issue with is the idea that Fedor fought him to pad his record, when Rogers was 10-0 and coming off of a KO over Arlovski. Fedor may be a magical being and the greatest mixed martial artist in history, but he’s not psychic.

—I’m not sure if I’d say that Nog is his best win, but it’s a fantastic win. Nog was a beast, and has one of the best HW resumes of all time.

—Fedor was undefeated for a decade, during which time he had 11 ranked wins and beat 5 former or future UFC champions. No one else on this GOAT list can even make that claim except perennial PED cheat Jones.

Im surprised to see that the right person is in first. Wasnt a fan of the guy when he fought, hes however the best to ever do it. 170 was stacked as fuck back in the day. Now its a division that Belal and people like Sean Brady can do well in....

GSP is the rightful GOAT, the consensus SHERDOG GOAT, and Fedor is a close second (honestly I have them tied up as number 1, but GSP as the GOAT serves my agenda better)

The 2 natty GOATs, real martial artists, not like those goofy ahh steroid junkies like Anderson Silva & Jon Jones who were too scared to fight without shooting PEDs into their dicks before walking out In the end, Georges St-Pierre defined greatness by putting himself through hell - MMA FightingIn the end, Georges St-Pierre defined greatness by putting himself through hell - MMA Fighting

I agree, I basically have Fedor and GSP as “co-GOATs,” if there is such a thing. I have Fedor #1 with GSP a very close 2nd, if he’s even 2nd at all. But the opposite order is understandable too.
