Silva is a PED cheat and Izzy is without a shadow of doubt 2nd greatest MW of all time based on his accolades and at the time of my post, he was on his to make that gap between him and Anderson even smaller. So no, that’s not a dumb take.

Also, this forum is a nostalgia biased cesspool, so I don’t really care that you think of me, as I honestly couldn’t care less about you. It’s rare to see people guided by logic and reason here, and you are surely not one of them

He definitely is. He’s the GOAT of his division and that’s the most competitive division in UFC. He’s the only GOAT candidate that is undefeated. He’s also the most dominant fighter of all time and he fought the highest level opponents. All of his 3 title defences were against top15 p4p fighters in the world. He never popped for PEDs too. Only Jones and GSP is above him
 
Its crazy when you realize that there has been no GOAT candidate after JBJ and he is still active...

We had Usman, who nearly made it on the list, and we had now Izzy who looked like a good prospect but failed.

But other than those two potentials there was not a single champ since 2011 who was worth putting his name even on a theoretical GOAT waiting list...

Based on the quantity of TD yes he could be mentioned on the waiting list but he fought Max 3 freaking times.... Its the same reason I dont put Cain on any GOAT list because he basically fougt like 3 or 4 different guys during his whole peak...

Mendes, aldo, max x3, ortega, tkz (kind of), yair, that’s a great list, just proved he could beat the 3rd best and 2nd best featherweights a combined 4 times, only dropping 3 rounds to max and beating Jose 30-27. I agree the max rematches are a bit funny but aldo for example beating edgar twice and mendes twice, does it only count as one win?
