All Things Space

yeah, hes a bit of an eccentric and he was for sure bullied by jocks, ( jerseys are for real men) but he has an uncanny ability to articulately his point regardless if it makes sense or not

Oh comon man, I'm alpha as fuck. Played Varsity Basketball as a sophmore, was all state in soccer...although I am a bit eccentric in my thoughts on certain things. I prefer open minded.

Sorry dude. Got you and MPH confused for a second, hence the inside joke him and I have about jerseys and swirlies .

My bad. It's probably because your both blue belts and the majority of my discussions have been with with either one of you

haha...I've argued back in forth with MPH for the last week or two on these same sort of topics. I'm sure he's alpha too:) Give him the benefit of the doubt.

what's wrong with that thread, it's an interesting movie and idea. I never said it was a fact.

I guess the binary idea isn't as ridiculous as some . its just not an established theory so people's James's get rustled.

I don't agree, but it makes more sense than Genesis's account or flat earth lol

hes not dude. hes a good egg though, and has some hilarious posts. hes very witty, and can argue his point as well as you lol, but the dude is beta

Yeah who knows about the binary thing, probably not the case but it would fit the bill as far the facts. The most hilarious argument prevalent in that thread for me was "if we're in a binary, wouldn't we know it?" lol...I always thought that was a weird way of posing a question about something unknown to this point:) Plus a lot of posters implied "well, if we're in a binary, why can't we see the other star?", to which the easy answer is simply "Maybe we do, maybe we do every day".

That was a good and interesting thread as far as I'm concerned, and I learned a few things in the process.

you know what bothers me?

The fucking haircut thread is about 5x more popular than this.:icon_cry2

you're on a site full of homo sapiens who enjoy watching grown men punch other grown men in the face as entertainment, it stands to reason things won't get super intellectualized by the masses. Not that sherdog posters aren't a smart bunch, it's just a nice place to check out for a while.

The thing with black holes is that scientists say they can see light being bent and distorted through space, the same way they see light being bent and distorted by something with a strong gravitational force like a star. That, and when matter is accelerating toward a black hole, it releases a whole bunch of radiation and light as it accelerates toward the black hole. More velocity means more energy and that's where the radiation is generated. There is no light actually escaping the black hole, just matter releasing light as it accelerates.

Also, here is a mind blowing paragraph:
One of the most basic laws of quantum mechanics is that a system can be in more than one state -- it can exist in multiple realities -- at once. This phenomenon, known as the superposition principle, exists only so long as the system is not observed or measured in any way. As soon as such a system is measured, its superposition collapses into a single state. Thus, we, who are constantly observing and measuring, experience the world around us as existing in a single reality.

Also, this guy explains the universe and the big bang and stuff pretty well, technical but understandable:

I originally saw the video posted on Sherdog before. It's long but worth a listen

Great post

The entire universe is just a gigantic metaphor for the reality that you create or want to create in your mind, the entire universe is not really physical, as long as you keep looking it will continue creating itself, but it is you who keeps creating it... peace!

Why do you and I seem to create the same Universe as everyone else then?

I want to have nothing but big boobs orbiting bigger boobs in space...

WHERE MA BOOBS!?

Yeah, I have come across versions of that as well, but I'm not really sure how immediately expiring objects (or almost instantly expiring) give credence to the bigger theory. I still don't exactly know what the hadron collider was creating as far as the black hole idea goes, but I do remember the hoopla surround the scientific minority opinion that the collider was a idea because of this.

I'm not really sure what would be weirder, if black holes did or did not exist, considering they seem to be the razors edge of where our known physics models begin and end.

black holes exist and it isnt in question.
im 99% sure they proved it a few years back. i will provide links if i can dig them up.

edit = i see someone already showed you pics. i know they have seen blackholes swallowing stars.
when the hole swallows a star too massive that is when the hole starts spitting out the radiation someone mentioned.

i dont think it is cosmic background radiation but some other type. it can be detected across the entire universe.
