All the pressure is on Jon Jones

If Gane loses he'll be 0-2 in title fights and it's going to be a long time before they give him a 3rd.

gane aint throwing kicks willy nilly, that threat of getting dominated by a better grappler with better GNP is real. 100%. those prefight videos of ganes wrestling training is laughable. they have no clue what they are doing. gane doesnt start strong, he has no power in his punches, he cant be throwing kicks like he does against other HWs, his best wins are blackbeast and tai. come on man. jones easily wins this. theres a reason why every fighter says this. they talk. they hear things. jones team has been getting results. he understands whats at stake. it's too big of a fight to go out there and look stupid. jones doesnt do that. combined with his fight night performances, easy win IMO.
The reason that most of the fighters and half the shertards are picking Jones is because if he wins, they say I told you he's the best ever, and if he loses they say I don't care what happened in one fight, he's still the best ever. The only ones to pick Gane are people who actually know about the fight and are actually picking who they believe will win, not some political position that is the most safe.

what? is that how you think? people are picking jones to win because thats who they believe will win. thats it.

nah much more pressure on Gane

JJ has already accomplished so much, if gane loses to a LHW who bulked up to HW, when gane himself is a heavy, that would be serious loss of face

I don’t know about pressure, but the expectations are on Jones due to him being the more experienced, more successful, and more complete fighter.

This is hilarious.

Oh, ok. I mean there's almost zero reason to believe Jones wins this other than "Jones always wins". People who are picking Jones are blind to the actual circumstances of the fight, they just believe what was true once will always continue to be true

Not you again, come on dude this is garbage and ridiculous. Jon has more ways to win the fight. He is the better submission grappler/BJJ, and wrestler. The problem is jones is slower, older, and been out for three years.

Did you really mean this

Yep, Gane should clearly be the favorite but people don't want to bet against Jones because "He's the best ever, he always won in the past". Fighters in particular don't want to bet against him on youtube because it's more of a political position they're taking, not actually judging the fight on it's merits. But Jones only has one way to win. He's got to be a wet blanket for 3 rounds and I really doubt he will be able to do that.

Not only does Jones have to back up all the promises and trash talking he's done in the last 3 years, he has much more on the line than Gane, while Gane has little, if anything to lose.

If Jones loses, he eats crow like no one ever before. The last three years of bragging, promising and belittling his potential opponents will come back swiftly and with a vengeance. He can't say he cleaned out the HW division, he can't say he is the undisputed overall GOAT of MMA. He loses his "undefeated" record, he could suffer a humiliating stoppage that will circle the internet for decades. A loss to Gane, while he is supposedly clean, will enhance the idea that all his good wins came against smaller fighters not in their prime, while he was juiced to the gills.

A loss to Gane means the end of Jones' career. He will not try to work his way back into contention in the HW division by fighting Blaydes, Aspinall, Pavlovich, or anyone else. He will take his paycheck and spend it on coke and strippers, and whatever else he plans to do in his retirement.

For Jones, losing means the dreams are over, but not so for Cyril Gane:

Gane is just entering his prime and a loss means nothing because he has nothing but time. Gane will simply go back to work and work his way back up, which is the mindset of a true career HW.

Not only does Gane have little to lose, he thrives in that mindset. His ability to deflect any sort of pressure and stay loose is one of the most important keys to his success. While Jones instagrams his body transformation, his pad work, his past accomplishments, and belittles Gane's competition, Gane is staying confident and nonchalant. This reminds me a lot of the dynamic between Holly Holm and Ronda in the days before their fateful meeting. Which, incidentally, marked the end of Ronda's massive hype machine, and ultimately, her MMA career.
Damn

How embarrassing
