Kevin Lee - ducked him earlier, later agreed, UFC didn't want it, and he took the easier opponent in Oliveira, I can't blame him in those circumstances

Drew Dober - wanted to fight Islam for name recognition, citing that he's an A-Lister who brings a lot of eyes to the sport. Even though Dober knew he loses he still saw the benefit in name recognition.

Alexander Hernandez - he was booked against Islam but got cancelled due to pandemic travel restrictions. He would have lost but at least he was willing.

The only reason people are ducking Islam is because he’s a hard fight and his rank doesn’t reflect his value/m. Why fight a guy who’s top 5 caliber when he’s only rank 14? It’s the same reason Geoff Neal can’t find opponents right now.

Once he’s ranked properly I doubt anyone avoids him

He’s a high risk/low reward fight. A win over Chimaev doesn’t do much for them, since he isn’t even ranked, but a loss would send them to the very end of the line...
