I haven't seen these since I was probably 6 or 7 so hard to judge but I remember liking The Land Before Time better although I liked both. Also remember liking An American Tail and The Fox and the Hound quite a bit as well.

Both great movies. Saw them both in theaters as a kid along with both American Tale movies.
Land Before Time > American Tale > All Dogs Go To Heaven.

All 3 hit the feels. Land Before Time however is a major moment in my life as that’s the first movie theater I ever went to as a child. Or at least the first I remember. I watched it with my daughter and still get teary eyed when Littlefoots mom dies.

A baby dinosaur being orphaned during a migration forced by a mass-scale natural disaster before struggling to not be eaten ain't dark enough for you?

Sheesh, man. The movie is about coping with death, and learning to survive through teamwork by making friends when your only support system is ripped away. It's not exactly light stuff.
