Smollett is nominated for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, scheduled for Saturday. Six-time host and "Black-ish" star Anthony Anderson told Variety on Wednesday that he hopes to see the controversial actor there.

“I hope he wins," Anderson added. "I’m happy for him that the system worked for him in his favor because the system isn’t always fair, especially for people of color. So I’m glad it worked out for him."

If this is the “image” black activists put forth to represent their race, they can expect to be judged accordingly.

he missed an opportunity to troll, "glad an innocent man had all his charges dropped. The white nationalists need to be caught and punished".

Dammit... I'm so happy that Jussie and his lawyer are doubling/tripling down.

Seriously, I can't wait for the next episode in this riveting comedic drama.

<GOT2>

Im totally with you bro. There needs to be a list of 4, maybe 5, allowed topics to discuss on here. They would need to he approved by people such as ourselves in order to meet a level relevance to current events. Anything else-immediate wasteland and ban.
I've already messaged the mods about taking care of this.... propaganda.

<JagsKiddingMe>

Words, I have no words.

I avoided this topic since the assault was first reported. Im getting that OJ vibe. Where racial progress is viewed through ones ability to skirt the system.

My opinion on this isnt final. Since a piece of this puzzle rests on the clerks office.

Overcoming the system is something most minorities value for obvious reasons

Thats fucking racist.

People regardless of their race will try to gain the system when its presented as a noble cause.

It's not "gaming" the system where talking about here. It surviving it. Of course people find inspiration in that.

Y'all are fixated on a story because an actor got nominated for an award in the best supporting actor category?

please tell me you idiots read beyond the headlines.....because I'm thinking y'all don't and just want to be outraged.

Word, you care that an actor got nominated in a category for best supporting actor? Please tell me why you believe that is something worthy of you being fixated on? I mean who else is nominated in the category, it's his 4th straight year being nominated, were you fixated on his nomination for this same award the previous 3 years?

no because he hadn't committed this crime before that. (duh) That's the whole point. They are nominating him after this whole debacle. Do you not see how stupid, cringey, and hilarious that is?

What does a crime (that he didn't commit since charges have been dropped) have to do with whether or not he deserves an award for the performance he did on a TV show?

I'm not a liberal you dork. What crime did he commit? What has he been convicted of? Isn't it always you conservatives with "The Constitution this, The constitution that" Well isn't "Presumption of innocence" a staple of the constitution? And last I checked, he has been convicted of no crime.

Are you sure you want "charges have been dropped" to be your measuring stick for innocence?
