“At least a text message to say, ‘Just checking to see if you’re doing OK, making sure you’re alive,’” Sterling said. “I think that’s common courtesy. I’m technically one of your employees. No matter if you want to call it self-employed, I’m still one of your employees. If you were my boss and I didn’t like you, I’m still going to check on your well-being -- that’s just how I am -- but from a human being standpoint, I think that would have been a cool thing to wake up to.”

For someone who's easily expendable like him, he sure does like to talk a lot.

Tend to agree. Most jobs will show more support towards their employees than the UFC does with its fighters.

99% of companies don't have an airhead for a president who shit talks his employees on live TV.

The UFC sets the bar very low.

Wasn't he trashing the UFC not too long ago? Now he wants a Hallmark card from Dana saying, "thinking of you after your recent knockout?"

Fucking millennials lol

They probably did, but he was too busy dabbing. He's a alright fighter with potential, but I think he ruined his relationship with the higher ups with his attitude. Stating he deserves more(which I agree with but he didn't really prove his worth at the time) and also saying he doesn't have medical yet the UFC does offer medical for its fighters.

I'm all for bashing the UFC and Dana....but c'mon Aljamain. Wait he's taking about after the brutal KO? Ok then, yeah, shame on them for not giving him an, "are you still alive" phone call. These guys are risking their health for them, and all of us for that matter.

I really think fighters should be able to sue the UFC whenever a UFC official, acting in an official capacity speaks negatively about them....especially to the press.

Sometimes it seems that the UFC forgets its place in the partnership. When UFC officials are on the clock, their job is to organize and promote fights.

It would be the equivalent of a Mcdonald's employee on the clock saying 'these burgers are terrible, nobody wants to eat this shit.'

Dana should have probably been fired many times for this already. Its like he doesn't know what he's doing out there sometimes.....

What a baby, if your not drawing in truck loads of cash then the only people that care about you are immediate family sometimes...this guy is delusional of reality..

Unfortunately, the fight game loves loud mouth promoters. Bob Arum, Don King, etc. The UFC just particularly irritates me because of how they do their business with fighters, and the fact they act like this professional sport league while they let amateur hour decisions run them.

And when contracted fighters openly bash the UFC on social media? Which is something Sterling is guilty of himself. Nowadays, if you are caught badmouthing your employer on social media that usually results in getting FIRED.

It’s amazing how people here seem to automatically defend the ufc no matter what. Good gracious y’all.

A simple call/text after that KO is not too much to ask for.

1000% accurate.

I get his point and don't think people should give him shit for it, but he is being incredibly naive.

Given that Dana regularly bashes his fighters, fair game. That's the precedent the UFC itself sets.

The reality is the UFC has a pretty weak position with professional communications; its well documented and it goes beyond just speaking badly about its own fighters.

Whether or not any individual fighter may or may not be guilty of bashing the UFC, the above holds true.
