Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes

Curtis Blaydes (#5 HW) asked for the Reem (#2 HW) after his win over Mark Hunt (#6) in UFC 221, and seems like it's happening. Probably in UFC 225, Chicago.

Who wins?

As you can see below, both are teasing a up coming fight. I could be wrong but it's more likely that they are facing each other.

I def think it’ll be slow paced but will end with a TKO for Alistair. Think he’s going to stop him via the clinch. Thus keeping Alistair’s hopes of another title shot alive.

How so? He's 5-1 already, dominated Hunt. Who you'd give him? Lewis? Has to be someone with good TDD so he can be tested more on the feet..

Exactly, to me Blaydes is a better version of Brock Lesnar, less explosive but even more technical and the most important: he's clean. Although, people here care more about a fighter persona than actual skillset so they will hate on him.

I never gave a shit about Lesnar coming back or about the way he beat Hunt.

He beat 2 fighters in the top 5 last year. He's a real contender. Had the currently champ hurt.

Nah, Alistair has much better takedown defense and is way better off his back being able to get up and get back to his feet. Def think he can get caught by Blaydes rushing to finish it, but, most likely, I think a couple knees to the body will hurt Curtis, causing him to fall to the mat where Alistair will finish off with some GNP.

If Blaydes does manage to pull out this W, I would like to see him vs Werdum to get the next title shot. That’s assuming Fabricio wins his next fight (which he should)

I am gonna take Reem in this one by TKO. Hunt hurt Blaydes a few times if I recall, I don't think Reem will let him of the hook with his more diverse attack, he'll come in with knees and kicks when he hurts Blaydes. And Blaydes wont be able to take Reem down, it will be a stand up fight.

Reem TKO round 1 or 2. But of course lets not discount the fact that Reem can easily be hurt, Blaydes can land and also take this.

Hmm. Reem generally has pretty good TDD and isn't a slouch on the ground. Besides throwing that sloppy kick at Stipe and then getting taking down, I'm struggling to think of too many other times he's been taken down in his entire UFC run but he hasn't really fought too many top wrestlers. I'd rather see him fight someone like Cain, he should beat Blaydes though.
