It's been said several times, I'll dig a few out when I'm not at work. Half the time it's even in the OP

Overall, the guy likes these fields and composes long essays exploring the 'what if?' on a variety of subjects while adopting "this is fact" tone throughout which pulls a lot of fans, but when posters probe deeper into any specific area or challenge arguments presented he mocks them for "falling into his trap"

Could be he's just walking back his investment in these things to not look silly, but he's gone on record repeatedly calling this stuff "entertainment" and comparing himself to ironic comedians

As someone who has both seen UFO's in person and known many others who have had even more nefarious connections with them I find threads like this interesting socially. It seems some people will never accept anything as existing until it is officially discovered by recognized established authority..... it seems others will believe anything that is not recognized officially by an established authority and then there seems to be a group that is open minded but also takes into account whatever evidence does exist in order to come to conclusions. This third group is largely open to the existence of UFO's and thinks they have probably been truly witnessed on this planet by many people.

My point is that bias plays a larger role in people than is expected and it seems to be equally if not more true in the realists and skeptics who seem to think they are the only ones using reason and logic. There is not any one post I could point out to illustrate my point but when you KNOW something about a particular topic it does provide a different lens through which to view these kinds of threads and the volume of posts reveals a kind of bias that is pretty apparent.

funny you posted this, I just added it to my post as an obvious option I didn't consider at first. It would explain the illusory nature of the "vehicles" and "beings" themselves. Though I still believe a previous period on earth that became able to travel at least through the solar system is probably the most likely answer.

Oh yeah. You could be totally right. I am just WAY down the rabbit hole as far as reading many different accounts and I tend to think that its not must one phenomenon. I could be totally wrong.

In fact I do find the notion that ALL paranormal experiences come from one source compelling. Skinwalker Ranch comes to mind here.
