lol. sherdog comes through again. loves movies rated horribly and shits on great movies that score highly. i for one loved resurrection as well.

I'm a little confused. Crtically speaking, Resurrection is rated neither especially highly nor very poorly.

maybe its changed then because at one point it was like a 3 on rotten tomatoes.

That's fair. I actually didn't see ANY of them until I was an adult. All within the last 5 years I think.

Alien 3 was just dull for me. I know that Fincher ran into a ton of studio interference making the film. I wonder what we would've gotten if that had not been the case.

Have you seen the Alien 3 "Assembly Cut"? It's supposed to be better. I have in the Alien anthology collection but I don't think I've watched it yet.

I've never considered 3 boring, probably because to me it's the scariest of the bunch. I think that's largely because that was the first one I saw. I was 7 when it came out, and I first saw it shortly thereafter when my oldest brother rented it.

Scared the bejesus out of me.

I first saw it when I was about 10 when I was at a sleepover at my Grandma's, I'd already seen Aliens 2, Predator and Terminator so little 10 year old me was like:

LOL!

As a little kid only two scenes from Predator scared me:

1. When they find the skinned bodies of the green berets

2. When you see Hawkin's body hanging up in the tree shortly after the Predator kills him first

I only watched it once, and if I was watching something other than the theatrical cut I was not aware of it.

Billy's scream from the log bridge and the Predator cleaning his skull got me, if a serious badass like Billy could only last a few seconds...

Now that you mention it I was also scared at the sight of Billy's corpse being thrown down and the Predator reaching into his back to rip out his spine.

Edit: never mind, that was the second video in your post

this movie has actually aged better than alien 3 for me it has more of a sci fi feel alien deserves, some of the alternate scripts pitched for alien could have made that a better movie but the studio ruined that film interfering with fincher.

I mean, why the fuck is Sigourney Weaver dunking a basketball? I'm not entirely sure, but it's at least interesting to watch.

Sigourney weaver was dunking a basketball to show the viewer that her reflexes, strength, speed and agility had been improved by the alien dna

I alien resurrection also gave us a better look into weyland yutani. I think these films had the potential to be better in hindsight the entire series underperformed and never fulfilled it's potential it is kind of like the purge great concept poorly executed.
