Television ALIEN: EARTH (Renewed for Season 2)

If you have finished season one of ALIEN: EARTH, how would you rate it?

It started off OK, but the deepfake Ash sucked and was completley unnecessary.

I do agree with someone else, that everyone here is too young and clean to be in a movie like this

Also that mutant thing at the end, actually did fuck all the entire time he was around other than stand around and look scary.

The alien in the first movie, despite being a guy in a suit, did more.

I thought the Acid blood in zero gravity was a sick idea, but i was alreayd un-invested in the movie by then. The CGI aliens just dont look right.

Still...i think it was better than the last two. Like Predator, they are slowly getting better at making these.

Gonna watch this new shit tonight and give my opinion

I give it a 3.5 out of 5. Enjoyed it overall

Actually just started the first one. Seems ok so far... a few gripes but nothing like Prometheus or Covenant

It is definitely stretching my ability to suspend disbelief.

The height she effortlessly dropped and landed from without even bending her knees more than a few inches....GTFO. What, does she weigh 5 pounds? Because even steel will be deformed in shape if it drops from a height of 250 feet. That's the power of gravity. Assuming she weighs the same 135 pounds as the actress, with that landing, we're talking about her absorbing a downward force roughly 2500X what it is when she's just standing still. So that's some fancy carbon nanotubing.

But yeah, one of the greatest things about the original Alien was that despite the fantastic monsters it was otherwise credible as hard Sci-Fi. It didn't exaggerate things. It respected the physics of the universe. With each new installment it has gotten further and further away from that. We're veering into full blown Sci-Fi fantasy. It's unfortunate.

I really enjoyed most of the art design, except that the xeno had a weird texture to it, almost like it wasn't quite wet enough. Acting has been fine. The writing and pacing is a bit wonky, but I'm invested enough to see the season through. I enjoyed Legion and that was a weird series with similar pacing oddities (also Hawley).

They covered the original xeno's in Vaseline to make them look more real. In the days of green screen and CGI they don't do that sadly, so they don't look as real.
