People actually liked this movie?

Promethus was one of the shittiest movies I've ever watched.

Flabbergasted by it as well. Thought the movie was hot garbage.

I don't understand how anybody thinks the first movie was in any way good. From the plot holes, to the horrible writing, to the shitty characters.....

I'm curious why anybody thought it was any good. Please explain.

I thought it was a beautiful spectacle with some stunning effects (sans the old man makeup.)

They are called motion pictures, after all. The acting was good enough to keep it going, the plot made little sense but it wasn't hard to glaze over and be taken in by it.

Not a great movie by any means but I've gotten my enjoyment from it every time I've watched it.

Next new title is going to be:

SHAMELESS CASH IN: NO IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS THOSE MOVIES SO STOP ASKING

Or they say "No comprende" or "Me no speak no enliso" and they will question her illegal status on the planet and prepare for her deportation.
Meanwhile, headless David will be kicked around on a soccer field in a sports match held at Space Jockey Stadium.

Well she might be facing jail time as well for stealing one of their space ships. It's a high risk , high reward for her.

The type of Promethus sequel i would be happy with is another visually stunning movie that heads into the direction of WHO THE FUCK CREATED THE XENOMORPHS !

And why... Or if they weren't "manufactured", then where do they originate ?

Ridley Scott Talks ALIEN: COVENANT, Two More ALIEN Prequels

Ridley-Scott-Alien-Covenant-112715-Dragonlord.jpg

Ridley Scott confirmed that he is planning another two Prometheus sequels to follow Alien: Covenant before the Prometheus storyline meets up with the original 1979 Alien. Alien: Covenant and the following two films will be origin stories, answering the "very basic questions posed in Alien: why the alien, who might have made it and where did it come from?" Scott revealed at a press conference in Sydney where he is starting pre-production on Covenant, the first sequel to Prometheus.

"Its a very complex story. Its an evolution of what I first did with Prometheus 1," he said of the new film, which tells the story of the crew of the colony ship Covenant, who discover what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

"Prometheus 1 was borne out of my frustration that on Alien 1 in 1979 - I only did one as I don't normally do sequels. I was amazed that in the 3 that followed that no-one asked the question 'why the Alien, who made it and why?' Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus 1, which starts to indicate who might have made it and where it came from," Scott said.

"So I’m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one, which was this Shaw, when she replaced Michael Fassbender in two pieces and we’ll kind of pick it up there and it will evolve. When that’s finished there’ll be another one and then another one which will gradually drive into the back entrance of the film in 1979," the British director revealed.

"So in other words, why was this space jockey there and why did he have an Alien inside him? And those questions will be answered," he added. Other casting besides Fassbender hasn’t been confirmed although Scott did say that Prometheus 1 star Noomi Rapace will only appear briefly in Covenant.

Ridley Scott Says ALIEN: COVENANT Will Feature Facehuggers, Chestbusters and Xenomorphs

Ridley-Scott-Alien-Covenant-121115-Dragonlord.jpg

Way back in November 2014, when Alien: Covenant was still called Prometheus 2, director Ridley Scott teased that his sci-fi thriller will have a brand new alien. He added that the "baby alien" in 2012's Prometheus was very close to the original creature in his 1979 classic Alien.

Another rumor surfaced last month that claimed the android David (Michael Fassbender) will create two different Xenomorph aliens in this sequel. While speaking with The Wrap, Ridley Scott said that this new expedition will feature an "evolving creature" created by the Engineers, along with some of the familiar Xenomorphs from the original classic.

"They're going to go to the planet where the engineers came from, and comes across the evolving creature that they had made. Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it. There was always this discussion: Is Alien, the character, the beast, played out or not? We'll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy. I think maybe we can go another round or two."

Noomi Rapace, who's character Elizabeth Shaw was the only human survivor in Prometheus, is coming back for Alien: Covenant, but only for a cameo appearance. Production is scheduled to start early next year, with 20th Century Fox already issuing an October 6, 2017 release date.

Katherine Waterston Cast as the Lead in Ridley Scott's ALIEN: COVENANT

Katherine-Waterston-Alien-Covenant-Dragonlord.jpg

Katherine Waterston, who co-starred in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice, is set to star in Alien: Covenant, the Ridley Scott-directed sequel to his Prometheus. In what will be the biggest role of her career to date, Waterston has been cast as the lead, Daniels.

Scott, of course, had put the 20th Century Fox project on hold to do The Martian, which is in the thick of the awards-season race. Covenant is his next pic. Specific plot details are being closely guarded, but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise. But in fact it’s a dark, dangerous world whose the only inhabitant is David (Michael Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant is believed to be the first in a conceived trilogy of new films that will link the events of Prometheus with the Scott-directed 1979 classic Alien.

Waterston is next up in the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them with Eddie Redmayne. She also co-starred in Steve Jobs.

Wow, so he went from being completely ashamed of the Xenomorph and wanting nothing to do with it to wanting to include the whole cycle fully.

I think we can thank Blomkamp for that.

I really have no desire to see anything by Scott, and am basically just holding out until Alien 5 gets here, but since I have to put up with whatever crap Scott comes up with, I might as well throw out there I hope he tries to capture the look/feel of the original film the same as Isolation did.

let's be honest:

it's gonna suck balls just like everything to do with the predator franchise

as james cameron said: "they screwed up the whole franchise"

james cameron>your opinions

i'm still pissed. fuck these guys in the face

edit ii: even my fucking da (r.i.p.) was disappointed by prometheus, it's like cut the highfalutin sci fi garbage and just show us some fucking aliens getting blasted ffs

James Cameron is one of my favorite directors of all time. The man can almost do no wrong when making movies.

I thought Promethus was fucking garbage as well. Then to listen to what Scott has planned for Blade Runner 2.... sounds like just terrible garbage.

Now that's impressive. So you want something in the middle of PROMETHEUS' bombast and AVP's ... AVP's.... AVP. Something in between?

I'm not sure what your gripe is tho. AVPs are action-oriented, no?

All the action in AvP.... I didn't feel anything from it. It was just so sterile and devoid of excitement. Compare that to Aliens where I was on the edge of my seat the entire time....

I like the idea of a versus film, it's just most versus films seem to not get anything right. The execution is usually terrible.

like omg it's so hard to basically reproduce predator 1, heck, even predator 2 ffs or aliens 1 or 2

just something that isn't retarded. like in that first avp, you had the predators getting fucking pwnd by like 1 motherfucking xeno

shit has to be done like starcraft 1: one 'lot' (zealot) should take at least 3 fucking xenos...makes for better action

and then in that predator requiem they had pregnant hospital bitches taking predalien probiscises like taylor rain...like wtf. they lost a golden opportunity to have a battle between aliens, predators, and human soldiers. plus they barely had the sound effects

then get fucking ripley up in that bitch with a power loader equivalent

alien fans or predator fans or fucking avp fans wanna see fucking badasses fighting badasses. not pregnant bed-ridden bitches, old motherfuckers, retards, etc.

i mean fuck lay off the cgi for a bit and make something badass
